Meet the foragers—aka the field bees! These ladies are the busy flyers you see zig-zagging through your yard, working hard to bring nectar and pollen back home.

Fun facts about field bees:
🌸 They can visit 50–100 flowers on a single trip
🧭 They use the sun like a built-in GPS to find their way home
💃 Ever seen a waggle dance? That’s how they tell their sisters exactly where the good flowers are
🌎 A single bee only makes about 1/12 teaspoon of honey in her lifetime—talk about teamwork!

🐝 Boy bees in the hive? Meet the drones!

Drones are the male honey bees, and honestly… they don’t do much. Their main job is to mate with a queen from another colony to help keep bee genetics strong.

🔎 Drone brood is easy to spot with large, dome-shaped caps. During development you may see a purple-eye drone, a stage right before they emerge.

⏳ Drones live about 4–8 weeks, and if they don’t mate, they hang around the hive eating honey… until fall when the workers kick them out to save food for winter.
