We’ve had some new faces around here, so we thought we’d introduce the family behind Busy Bees Bayou!

We’re a local, family-run apiary right here in Benton, Louisiana.

Bryn is the driving force and primary beekeeper. He’s a Veteran who learned beekeeping through Hives for Heroes and the Farmer Veteran Coalition, local beekeeper groups and many other friends, and he currently serves on the Louisiana Farmer Veteran Coalition board.

Fun fact: If there’s a podcast about bees, Bryn has probably listened to it. 🐝

Elizabeth handles the marketing and creative side, along with lots of help from our oldest daughter, Norah. She creates our packaging, special themes, and flavors. By day, she’s a Registered Dietitian and loves the idea of food as medicine—and finding delicious ways to use simple, local ingredients.

Our two daughters are part of the operation too—from labels and packaging to hive inspections and, of course, quality control.

What started as a hobby has turned into something our whole family loves. We enjoy caring for the bees, meeting new people, and finding ways to give back to our local community.

Glazes, baked goods, marinades, charcuterie boards, salad dressings, sweet treats—we absolutely love seeing where our honey ends up after it leaves the hive.

🍯 RAW COMB HONEY — LIMITED SUPPLY! 🐝

This is honey about as close to the hive as you can get! Our bees build every one of those beautiful hexagonal wax cells from scratch, fill each cell with nectar, fan it to remove moisture and turn it into honey, then cap the finished honey with beeswax. We simply cut the comb and package it—wax, honey and all!

Comb honey is delicious on biscuits or toast, but it really shines on a charcuterie board. Pair it with cheeses, crackers, fruit and nuts, and let everyone cut off a little piece of the comb.

This year marks a new adventure for Busy Bees Bayou—we are excited to offer COMB honey for the first time!

Straight from the hive, comb honey is honey in its purest form, sealed by the bees and ready to enjoy. Whether you spread it on warm biscuits, pair it with cheese, or eat it right off the comb, it’s a true taste of the hive.

We enjoyed connecting with fellow farmer veterans, networking with agricultural professionals, and learning about the many programs and initiatives supporting agriculture across Louisiana.

A special thank you to Hives For Heroes and Louisiana Farmer Veteran Coalition Farmer Veteran Coalition for their continued support of veterans in agriculture. These organizations played a major role in helping Busy Bees Bayou get started, and we are grateful for the opportunities, mentorship, and community they provide.
