Hoping everyone had a wonderful Resurrection Sunday and Happy Easter!

He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where he was lying.

I often hear the phrases

“Remove your feelings”
“You care too much”
“You need to disassociate yourself”

What if I told you the only reason we do it is because we care “too” much?

There’s nothing easy about being a first generation farmer. Constant battles to overcome. Odds against your success. Stressors out of your control.

What keeps us going? We care too much.

We wanted to control every aspect of our food source 8 years ago. What better way than doing it ourselves? We may have been a bit naive in all that it would entail. It sounded simple, but the feelings are still here.

We wanted to give our livestock a live they deserved. Our food deserves better.

And you know what? It’s ok to be sad. It’s ok to let those emotions come in waves. We’ve cared for these livestock since day one. In all weather conditions, all hours of the day & we are the ones that have to say goodbye.

There’s no shame in the sadness we feel & as a society we should welcome those feelings all while being grateful for the meals they provide. ♥️ www.gmicrofarm.com
