I have learned that drinkable water seems to be one of the hardest items to store if youā€™re trying to be prepared

Weā€™ve tried water bottles. They eventually leaked.

Weā€™ve tried gallon jugs. They eventually leaked.

What we ultimately decided on was methods of purification.

We have access to water sources, we just need to make sure itā€™s clean. This is only three of about seven or so methods we have on hand to make sure we have clean water, just incase.

And this is another example of a preparation that doesnā€™t need to be super emergency. I donā€™t know about yā€™all, be we get boil water adversaries often.

And if you were in a situation you had to be on foot, you are not going to realistically be able to haul thousands of gallons of water. These methods are quick, packable, light, and fairly inexpensive.

Can you think of other methods besides these three to make your drinking water safe? Have you tried any?

This is an old image I took on a film camera back in 2000? It is Private Account, and at the time he was retired from racing and from breeding and I spent some time taking care of him at Claiborne Farms. We called him Tubby and he was such a doll.

Itā€™s almost 5 am and we just finished our feeding.

I decided to do a little fluff pile to see if anyone was still ā€˜searchingā€™ for more food. And it seems like everyone has bellies full and are content šŸ„¹

I need to start doing more prepping posts, so why not start now.

So hereā€™s a prime example of why being prepared can be useful all the time, not just in emergency situations.

Well. Actually this was an emergency. Cause if I hadnā€™t been able to have sugar in my coffee this morning it would have been diabolical.

But anyway. Keeping a brand new container of sugar stockedā€¦ just incase! And it paid off today.

Hubs snapped this the other morning while I was preoccupied, trying my best to save some orphans.

Which makes me really wonder sometimes. Why are people so hateful to each other? Life is frail. Life is short. Do you really wanna spend your hours and days lashing out at people?

Instead of commenting that one ā€˜oh Iā€™ll get ā€˜emā€™ comment - maybe say something kind. Kindness is contagious.

You do have a choice. Kindness or hatefulness.

Life is short people. For us. For animals. BE KIND.

Something I stumbled across this week!

Many of yā€™all may have already knew this existed, but I did not until Tuesday.

Iā€™ve read all the info about using kitten milk or goat milk but adding heavy whipping cream to increases the fat content.

This milk replacement has over 40% fat on the label.

But anyway, just incase any one wasnā€™t aware of it! May be a new product to keep on hand for those unpredictable moments!
