My 29th year anniversary of farm ownership is approaching. My goal was never to get into the horse boarding business. My goal was to help to preserve the principals of classical dressage, and to spend a lot of time riding a lot of horses so that I could grow as a rider and trainer.
I consider myself fortunate to have started my dressage journey with people who were focused on the principles of lightness that are a fundamental of French classical dressage. My primary mentor was making trips to Nuno Oliveira's school in Portugal and getting guidance from Bettina Drummond in the US. My introduction to dressage included work in hand as a basis for establishing balance.
As the gap between classical and competition dressage seems to widen, I feel that it is still important to let people know that dressage is a path to help people help their horses. The gymnastic benefits for horses not only preserve soundness, but can often *improve* soundness. Balance and strengthening should be the focus of all training, as well as rehab.
I have room in my lesson program for those interested in exploring classical dressage, and for those who already have the interest and are looking for support. Message me through FB, email at [email protected], or call or text 585-255-0227 for more information. I travel for lessons, minimums apply.
