Nothing is quite as much fun as rescuing 50,000 defensive bees at 10pm after a bear ransacking their new home.. Looks like I'm working on working on electric fence in the morning. Thankful the dogs alerted us in time and only 1 colony was knocked over. With any luck the queen is ok and they will settle back in.

It's swarm season, give us a call or text for swarms or honey bee removals 540-630-5060

A cluster of 10,000 honey bees hanging from your tree branch looks like a horror movie. It is the calmest a honey bee will ever be in its life.

A swarm is bees moving house. They have left the old hive, gorged on honey, and clustered around their queen while scouts find a new home. They have no brood to defend, no honey stores to defend. They will not chase you. They will not sting unless directly threatened.

🐝 What to do in the next 24 hours:
- Do not spray. Do not call an exterminator.
- Find a local beekeeper — most will collect for free
- Search "bee swarm removal [your county]" — almost every county has volunteers
- Take a photo from 10 feet away for ID

The cluster usually moves on its own within a day or two when scouts find a new cavity. If you can wait, do nothing. If they pick somewhere inconvenient, the beekeeper will come fast — a healthy swarm is worth $200+ to them. 🍯
