🍎 🏃 🍎 🏃‍♀️ 🍎 I've been talking about these medals for weeks...and now I can finally show you why I've been so excited! When we started shopping for medals for the inaugural Apple Butter Festival Trail 5K, I asked several companies to send me their best ideas. There were a lot of nice designs, but the minute this little apple popped up on my screen, the search was pretty much over.

I mean...how perfect is that? The apple. The red-and-white gingham ribbon. And my favorite detail...that little "1st" tucked into the leaf. Every finisher in our inaugural race will have a medal that says they were there for the very beginning.

I'm almost ready to run the 5K just so I can get one of these medals. Then I remember...I don't run. 😂

Whether you're planning a weekend visit at the 51st Annual Apple Butter Festival or you're lucky enough to call Morgan County home, we'd love to have you join us. 🍎🏡 It usually starts with a weekend.

You come to Berkeley Springs for the Apple Butter Festival, planning to spend a few days enjoying the music, the food, the shopping, and everything that makes this little town so special. Somewhere between relaxing in the springs, wandering through downtown, chatting with friendly faces, and catching that first wonderful smell of fresh apple butter bubbling away, you start thinking, "You know... I could really see myself living here." Then on the drive home, you find yourself browsing real estate listings "just to see what's available." 😉

It happens more often than you might think, and we absolutely love to see it. 🍎🍂 The photos may already be looking like fall... but if you peek outside today, you know we're not quite there yet. Summer is still hanging on, but not for much longer! Before we know it, the leaves will begin to turn, there'll be that unmistakable crispness in the morning air, and the sweet smell of fresh apple butter will once again drift through the streets of Berkeley Springs. It's one of those moments that tells you autumn has officially arrived, and we can't wait.

One of my very favorite parts of Apple Butter Festival weekend isn't just the festival itself. It's watching visitors fall in love with Berkeley Springs... and seeing locals fall in love with it all over again. Sometimes it's someone's very first visit. Sometimes it's someone who comes back year after year because they can't imagine October anywhere else. And sometimes it's the people who call Berkeley Springs home, seeing their favorite little town through fresh eyes all over again.

There's a reason for that. Berkeley Springs has been welcoming visitors for centuries with its warm mineral springs, charming downtown, locally owned shops, art galleries, incredible restaurants, beautiful hiking trails, and the kind of small-town hospitality that makes you feel at home the moment you arrive. Then Apple Butter Festival weekend comes along, hundreds of vendors fill the streets, music echoes through the park, friends reconnect, new traditions begin, and somehow this already special little town becomes even more magical.

🍎🎉 How many of us can remember being part of the Apple Butter Festival Parade when we were younger? Marching with our school or Scout troop. Riding on a float. Playing in the band. Waving until our arms were tired because, for one magical morning, we were convinced the entire town had come to see us.

Or maybe you weren't in the parade. Maybe you remember the very first time you watched it. Sitting on the curb with family. Hearing the drumline before you could see it. Watching the fire trucks, the classic cars, and all the wonderful creativity roll by.

For more than fifty years, the Apple Butter Festival has been part of so many memories.

One of the biggest hits of last year's Apple Butter Festival Kickoff Party is returning, and we couldn't be happier to welcome Mark Cullinane Music back to Berkeley Springs! Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Perry Realty LLC, Mark will once again take the stage on Friday, October 9th in the West Virginia Craft Beer, Wine & Spirits Garden to help us kick off the 51st Annual Apple Butter Festival.

If you joined us last year, you already know why so many people wanted him back. There was fantastic music, co****le, great conversations, and yes... a little slow dancing under the lights. It was one of those evenings that just felt like Berkeley Springs. Relaxed, welcoming, and full of smiling faces. 🍎⛪🍏 We've been sharing a lot of exciting announcements lately... the music, the contests, the food, the shopping, and all the wonderful chaos that makes the 51st Annual Apple Butter Festival so much fun. Today's announcement is exciting in a different way.

Before the crowds fill the streets, before the music fills the park, and before another beautiful Sunday at the Apple Butter Festival begins, we invite you to join us for Service at the Springs at 9:00 AM.

One of our newer Apple Butter Festival traditions, Service at the Springs has quickly become one of our favorite parts of the weekend. Gathered beside the historic Berkeley Springs, where the natural mineral springs have been welcoming visitors for centuries, it's a peaceful opportunity to pause, reflect, and enjoy a quiet moment of community before the excitement of the day begins. There's just something special about starting a Sunday morning in a place that's been bringing people together for generations.

This year, we're honored to welcome Rev. Joseph N. Giles, Pastor of Berkeley Baptist Church, who will share an uplifting message centered on hope, gratitude, community, and the joy of coming together. Whether this is part of your Sunday tradition or you're simply looking for a quiet moment in a beautiful setting, everyone is welcome.

Of course, we know some of you will be lacing up for our brand new Apple Butter Festival Trail 5K at Cacapon Resort State Park that morning. Good news! If you're quick enough on your feet (or just really, really determined 😉), you'll still have plenty of time to make it into town for Service at the Springs before the festival officially gets underway.

At 10:00 AM, we'll officially welcome everyone to the final day of the 51st Annual Apple Butter Festival, and at 10:15 AM, Hymns_for_Him, proudly sponsored by the Berkeley Springs Rotary Club, will begin Sunday's entertainment.

Hymns for Him is a local family ministry that shares uplifting Southern Gospel music and cherished hymns centered on hope, faith, and encouragement. Whether you know every word or simply appreciate beautiful music shared from the heart, it's a wonderful way to begin a Sunday morning at the Apple Butter Festival.

Remember how we warned you there would be scammers pretending to sell Apple Butter Festival vendor spaces?

Well... it looks like they've graduated from Facebook comments to email.

This morning, several of our wonderful vendors forwarded us an email (pictured below) claiming to have booth space available for the Apple Butter Festival. It comes from a Gmail account signed by someone named "Vernetta."

Let's be very clear:

❌ This email is a SCAM.
❌ Vernetta is NOT affiliated with the Apple Butter Festival or the Berkeley Springs-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce.
❌ Do NOT send money or personal information.

Whoever is behind this should be ashamed of themselves. Our Apple Butter Festival vendors are hardworking small businesses, nonprofits, artists, crafters, food vendors, and entrepreneurs who pour their hearts into what they do. Trying to scam the very people who help make our festival so special is incredibly disappointing... and I'll stop there before I say what I REALLY think. 😉

A huge THANK YOU to the alert vendors who forwarded this to us right away. Because of you, we can warn everyone else before someone gets taken advantage of.

As we've said before, the ONLY way to register as an Apple Butter Festival vendor is through the official Berkeley Springs-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce website. If you're not applying through our website, you're not applying to the Apple Butter Festival.

For anyone still hoping to join us this year, here's the current status:

Every year, our vendor spaces fill completely, and we're well on our way again for the 51st Annual Apple Butter Festival. If you've been thinking about joining us this October, now is the time!

The ONLY way to apply for the Apple Butter Festival is through the official Berkeley Springs-Morgan Co Chamber of Commerce website. We are the organization that produces the Apple Butter Festival, and all vendor applications are handled directly through us.

Unfortunately, every year, scammers show up in the comments claiming they have vendor spaces available. You'll see things like, "Call me now!" or "Message me for a booth!" They do NOT have vendor spaces, and they are NOT affiliated with the Apple Butter Festival in any way. We do our very best to delete those comments as quickly as they appear... but they're persistent little critters. If you happen to spot one before we do, feel free to throw apples at them.

🍎 Virtually, of course. We do not condone apple crimes. 😉

To apply, simply visit the Berkeley Springs-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce website, click on the Apple Butter Festival page, and then click "Please Apply HERE!" 🍎 BIG NEWS: APPLE BUTTER IS OFFICIALLY OFF AND RUNNING!

We’ve been keeping something under our hats (running shoes?) for a little while now, and we are SO excited to finally tell you about a brand-new addition to Apple Butter weekend. On Sunday, October 11, we’re kicking off the final day of the 51st Annual Apple Butter Festival with our FIRST EVER Apple Butter Festival Trail 5K at beautiful Cacapon Resort State Park!

The course will take runners through Cacapon’s gorgeous wooded trails, with rolling terrain, gentle hills, mountain scenery and, if Mother Nature cooperates, some pretty spectacular fall color. And yes, it’s a real race! We’re partnering with New River Timing Co. for professional timing, every finisher will receive a medal, and registration is $35 per runner. Race-day check-in begins at 7:00 AM, with runners hitting the trail at 8:00 AM.

That gives everyone plenty of time to finish the race and head downtown before the Apple Butter Festival opens at 10:00 AM. And after running 3.1 miles through the woods, you’ve absolutely earned whatever you decide to eat when you get there. Of course, we also believe you’ve earned it if you came out to cheer for the runners. Or watched them from a comfortable distance. Or thought briefly about running and then decided against it. Really, we’re not here to police your Apple Butter Festival food choices. 😉

We are ridiculously excited to add something completely new to Apple Butter weekend, and we cannot wait to see that very first runners take off from the starting line!
