Valentine’s Day is coming ❤️
And this is how we celebrate—sugar free, without wild blood sugars ruining the day.
I always set up a little Valentine surprise for my kids in the morning, focused on love - not candy.
Over the years, I’ve gifted things like small toys, books, stuffed animals, fun socks, notes, and sugar-free, SMART CARB treats.
To avoid the sugar overload at school, I also pack foods that work for them—so they can enjoy classroom celebrations without the blood sugar rollercoaster.
Because kids remember how a day feels, not how much candy they ate.
And love doesn’t need sugar to be sweet 💕
Here is a list of treats that have gentle impact on blood sugars, and rarely need any extra insulin than what is on board from the meal before - for Will.
Good Journey donuts (WILL is a coupon)
The Scrummy Sweets Co.
Dr. John’s lollipops and hard candies (we use the formula made with DEXTRIN)
Quest mini cookies, chocolates
HighKey Snacks cookies
Lakanto chocolates and baking mixes
Duncan Hines KETO mixes and frosting
The Sprinkle Co (on Etsy) for keto sprinkles
Remember: SMART CARB isn’t about the carb count, it’s the INGREDIENTS that matter. MOST ZERO SUGAR candy that you find in the grocery stores DOES NOT WORK. Those artificial sugar subs spike blood sugar worse than cane sugar. Link in the comments for a list of the ones we use, and those we avoid.
I LOVE finding new SMART CARB treats. Share any that you have found in the comments. 💕
