These sweet turkeys have joined our chicken flock. They're so curious! On their first day of free ranging, one of the girls found the garden bed and snuggled in. One by one they all scooched in until they were a big pile of feathers and wood chips.

Here's a video of them using their wings to take a dirt bath 💕

Say hello to our sweet honeybees! This is our first year and we have big hopes 😊

They're working hard to build the honeycomb, then they fill it with brood (babies), pollen, nectar and honey. It's a truly incredible experience to be up-close and watch them work.

We have extra bee suits for anyone who'd like to come take a look inside a beehive!

We have baby chicks in the living room brooder again! 🥰 Our son's teacher used our eggs and incubator to hatch them for the classroom. But now they need a home!

We're full here, so if you're able to grab them by Sunday, you can have them for $2/each!

They move fast so the pictures are a little blurry (and backlit🤦‍♀️), but as you can see, they're cute and fluffy-faced, just like the last few hatches.

We also have some 9wk started pullets in the main coop brooder, they're $20/ea.

The meat birds are in their new home! We put them in here this morning, they are LOVING the new digs 😁 We're starting them right next to the house and will move the structure around the grass over the next several weeks.

Here's a video of the busy little chicks- scratching through the hay, chomping up the last bits of today's food, living their happy chicken lives.

Round 1 of processing day is coming quickly! If you're interested in buying some farm fresh chicken, let us know! We're taking pre-orders for whole birds as well as trays of breasts/thighs/wings.

Another day spent with the meat birds. We brought a few chickens and turkeys out into our day pen for some fun. One of the chicks got a full-size worm but it was down their throats before we could get a photo 😂

We're also finishing up our mobile coop. We're building this so they can stay safe while they forage for grass and bugs- and fertilize the grass! The frame and metal roofing are done, now we need to finish the access panel and add the feeder/waterer systems. Then we add the birds and BOOM! No more birds on the porch!

The miracle of another hatch day! I took a video of one of the babies making its way out of the shell just a few minutes ago. It's still recovering from all that work, but it looks nice and healthy!

Just like last time, we'll have several for sale if you're interested. $3/chick for our straight-run Easter and Olive Eggers. You can reserve now, we'll schedule pick-ups this weekend.

We're on to our next farm adventure - meat birds! We've eaten chicken we've raised on the farm, but this is our first experience with "meat breeds".

At the moment we have 48 Cornish Rock chicks PLUS 6 broad-breasted white turkey poults that we just picked up this afternoon. They'll live inside until their feathers grow in, at first the living room then the porch. By the end of next week, they'll go to their new outdoor accommodations!

We started building the mobile coop today. It will house our chicks until their processing date in the end of May. The turkeys will be around longer in a separate pen, likely until mid-August.

If you're interested in purchasing some pasture-raised meat from our farm, let us know! We'll have whole birds as well as packages of boneless tenderloins, thighs, and ground chicken.
