Carver Farms Recovery Ranch We’re a generational farm shifting the focus to helping the community through education and outreach. CFRR is a generational farm that has shifted focus.

We kicked out the cows and brought in the horses and goats! We are taking the steps to obtain our non-profit status so we can work with at-risk youth and addicts seeking recovery. In the meantime, we're working on developing our dairy goat herd of Alpines, Toggenburgs, and a couple Experimentals for show and milk. We're also passionate about community outreach and education and love attending events where we get to educate others about animal therapy practices and our dairy goat herd!

Our trip to Indiana was prompted by this accidental purchase 🙈😂

“How do you accidentally purchase a goat?!” …….we’ve been asked this quite a bit as we’ve told friends of our upcoming trip to Indiana.

So here’s the story of Name It…..

The National Toggenburg Club was having an online sale and part of the proceeds were going to go towards the youth scholarships they give out. We’re suckers for supporting the youth soooo we decided to place some max bids on some animals thinking we would never be the high bidder.

As the sale was coming to a close we were still the high bidder on this doe and we ended up being the winner bidder ….oops 😅……at this point we didn’t even know where the doe kid was located.

Fortunately for us she was close so we were able to transport her ourself. We also got to pick her name, and since this was a year of fun names we had a little fun.

We found out the owner of this doe kid is a youth breeder which made it even more worth it for us! He was also being recognized for his 4H ten years the evening we picked her up- Congratulations to him!

So we are officially introducing Jace’s new Toggenburg doeling

We traveled to one of our favorite shows yesterday, the Western PA Dairy Goat Association, to show in two rings under some new judges!

We had a blast hanging out with our goat friends and brought home some bling in the process. We only took two milkers and handful of juniors so we were able to enjoy the senior show and then question our sanity during the junior show😂😂

CFRR MA PAM WITH 2N'S went Grand Champion in Ring 2! She didn’t quite follow in her mom’s footsteps though and narrowly missed Best in Show but she was an honorable mention

Our star of the show string was
CH PALLET FARMS PDM PATIENCE (pending)!!!
This lady picked up her restricted leg as a Junior Kid her very first show she ever attended. Jace has been taking her to every show we’ve gone to hoping to pick up another leg on her. However she’s always been a bridesmaid, decorating our ribbon room with plenty of Reserves.
The pieces finally came together and she went Grand Champion in both rings against some stiff competition! Then continued to hold her own in the challenger class to pick up Best of Breed in both rings!
She was sooooo close to Best in Show in Ring 1 but was narrowly beat out by the gorgeous Lamancha.

Now for a trip to Benezette, then a trip to Indiana, and finishing the buck barn to get them moved 🤪 🎉

It’s the time of year we have every weekend booked and this past weekend was spent heading to Ohio.

It was our first time at this show, our first time doing two rings in two days instead on one, and our first weekend away in our trailer.

Jace has done some amazing work on the trailer and it was sooooooo nice to have this weekend! (Some pics of it at some point haha)

We really enjoyed being able to watch the other exhibitors show their animals. Jace helped out and even showed a Nubian buck!

We had a lot of doe placing at the top of their classes and 3 of them were able to bring home some rosettes for us.

Pallet Farms PDM Patience - the doe Jace won’t get rid of even though she hates me 🙄😂- brought home Reserve Champion Recorded Grade.

Babs finished us off this morning with buck/doe twins!

21 does kidded this year and gave us 38 kids all before May! (Good job ladies!😂)
