15 years ago, Burley Oak started with a dream and a garage.

Burley Oak founder, Bryan, started brewing beer in his garage with his friends as a fun hobby (like most do). Unexpectedly he lost his job. Instead of giving up, he took a leap of faith and decided to chase the dream of building something of his own. Then he found the perfect place to do it: a historic 1880s building in the heart of Berlin, once home to an oak barrel cooperage. And Burley Oak was born.

What started as one person’s dream has grown into something so much bigger, a family. Not just a brewery, but a gathering place, a home for live music, creativity, great beer, and most importantly, a community that has supported us every step of the way.

15 years later, we’re still here. Still brewing. Still growing. Still family run. And we couldn’t be more grateful. Through all the struggles our community may endure, it’s nice to know we always have each other to come back to. ❤️

To everyone who has raised a glass with us, worked alongside us, shared their creativity, shared a meal, brought their family through the doors, or simply called Burley Oak home for a night, thank you!

Here’s to 15 years of Burley Oak, and to all the years, beers, memories, and stories still to come. 🍻🌳

Fire and Raine is a regional Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia tribute band featuring Steve D (founding member of Dead on the Tracks) alongside a lineup of local musicians. The group performs classic jam-band sets, Grateful Dead staples, and related Americana.

Burley Oak August 29th invites Butte & Friends as they present the debut offering of My Friend - Delmarva’s newest Phish Tribute!  My Friend is led by John Butte of Better Off Dead on Lead Guitar - and they’re bringing the Butte & Friends horns!!  The show will be a recreation of a classic from the 1991 Tour when Phish played numerous gigs with the Giant Country horns.  Come for Jams, horn infused Phish, and the band itself:  featuring Larry Joseloff (John Kadlicek Band, DC Mystery Cats, Jerry Tripsters) on bass, plus Andrew Ellinghaus and Will Layman (Better Off Dead) on Drums and Keys!!  A show and debut not to be missed!!
