Worth repeating again & again... Your body is a temple βœοΈπŸ™πŸ»

The women below are the same age.... YOUR BODY is a temple. Treating your body like a temple means to honor and respect the body God has created for you.

1 Corinthians 10:31: β€œSo whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
Treat Your Body Like a Temple

1 Corinthians 6:19-20: β€œDo you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”

You were bought with a price by the blood of Jesus and by grace through faith, have new life. We are temples of the Holy Spirit. Not a house, not a residence, but a temple.

God has given us so many foods that are intended to heal the body and prevent diseases.

Great information- follow their page!

The insects that survived winter in your leaf litter are still there. They haven't emerged yet. And a March cleanup kills them at the last stage.

If you left leaves in your garden beds over winter β€” whether on purpose or by accident β€” the moths, butterflies, and firefly larvae that overwintered in those leaves are still developing. Luna moth cocoons are still wrapped in fallen leaves. Queen bumblebees are still in shallow chambers under the leaf mat. Firefly larvae are still in the soil just below the surface.

Most of them are two to four weeks from emerging as adults. They survived five months of winter. They need the leaves to stay in place for a few more weeks.

Raking, blowing, or bagging those leaves now removes their habitat just before the finish line.

The fix costs nothing. It actually requires less work.

🌿 The rule β€” wait until May:

- Don't remove leaf litter from garden beds, tree bases, or fence lines until daytime temperatures have been consistently above sixty degrees for a week or more β€” in most of the Northeast and mid-Atlantic that means early May
- By then the vast majority of overwintering pupae have emerged as adults, queen bumblebees have left to start new colonies, and firefly larvae have moved deeper below the disturbance zone
- The difference between a March cleanup and a May cleanup in terms of insect survival is enormous β€” most of the moths and butterflies that would have emerged from your leaf litter are lost to a March removal

🌿 What to do with the messy six weeks:

- Push leaves to the edges β€” you don't have to leave them in the middle of your lawn. Rake them under shrubs, along fence lines, and into garden beds. The edges are where most overwintering insects are anyway
- Run a mower over leaves on the lawn at the highest blade setting β€” shredded leaves fall between grass blades as mulch and decompose in a few weeks while the larger leaf pieces along edges stay undisturbed
- If you need to clean the lawn surface, clean the lawn. Leave garden beds, tree bases, and fence lines alone until May
- If your HOA requires spring cleanup, request a variance for pollinator habitat management in garden beds. The word management changes the framing from neglect to intention

You're being asked to do less work, later. The leaves did their job all winter. Give them one more month 🌿

Sorry about the ugly dirt tubes I'm building on your siding.

I know what you're thinking. Wasp nest. Colony. Stinging. Danger. None of that is true.

I'm a Mud Dauber. A solitary wasp. I don't have a colony. I don't have workers. There is one of me. I built this nest alone, and I have nothing to defend with a swarm because there is no swarm. You could stand two feet from my nest and I wouldn't care. I'm busy.

I'm building a pantry.

Each mud tube on your siding contains individual cells, and each cell is stocked with paralyzed spiders and one egg. I hunt spiders, sting them with venom that paralyzes but doesn't kill, carry them back to the tube, pack them in alive, lay an egg on the last one, and seal the cell with mud. When my larva hatches, it has fresh food waiting.

One nest means I've removed hundreds of spiders from the area around your house in a single season.

There are three types, and they don't all hunt the same prey.

The black-and-yellow mud dauber builds the classic tubes. She hunts crab spiders, orb weavers, and jumping spiders β€” the ones you find in and around your garden vegetation.

The organ pipe mud dauber builds parallel tubes that look like pipe organ pipes. She also hunts web-building spiders.

The blue mud dauber β€” metallic blue-black and iridescent β€” hunts black widows. She finds the widow's web, taps on the silk to mimic trapped prey, and when the widow comes out to investigate, she strikes. She paralyzes the widow and stocks it in a mud cell for her young. She specifically targets widows and their relatives. She doesn't even build her own nest β€” she finds an abandoned mud dauber nest, softens it with water, restocks it with paralyzed widows, and seals it back up.

🌿 How to read the nest:

Sealed tubes with smooth mud caps β€” active. Larvae developing inside. Spiders still being delivered. Leave it alone

Tubes with small round holes β€” the adults have emerged and left. The nest is empty. Scrape it off if it bothers you

Open-ended tubes β€” still under construction. She's actively hunting and packing

If a metallic blue-black wasp is working around the tubes, that's the blue mud dauber. She's the one hunting widows. Encourage her

🌿 What to do:

If the nest is in a spot that doesn't bother you, leave it. Free spider control that works around the clock

The sting β€” if it happens at all β€” is mild and comparable to a honeybee. But it almost never happens because she has nothing to defend. No colony. No queen. No reason

Once the emergence holes appear, the nest is empty. Scrape it off or leave it for a blue mud dauber to reuse next year

If you must remove an active nest, do it at night when the wasp is inside and less active β€” but consider that she's removing hundreds of spiders from your house this season

I look like something dangerous. I'm the opposite. Your porch has fewer spiders because I'm here 🌿

When you're reaching for the condiments today to put on your burger πŸ” .... just thought you should know 😳. Enjoy 😊 .

(What makes them BAD - BAD: These brands are best left on the shelf- many ingredients are all gmo. They contain high fructose corn syrup, sugar from sugar beets, soybean oil, natural flavorings, which can be an indicator of MSG, natural smoke flavor, preservatives, and additives. Note that no mustards made this list, simply because mustard just contains less β€œbad stuff.”)
