Happy garden lobster day 🦞 since moving here whenever we get a good rain especially in spring these little guys start getting spotted randomly in my garden. Do we have a creek like 500 ft from this, yes. Do I ever see them there no. In the middle of my garden pathway absolutely. I know people refer to them as so many things crayfish, crawdads, crawfish. But for whatever reason when I first spotted them in the garden I couldn’t think of their name on the spot and shouted garden lobster to my husband. They have now become garden lobsters in our household. What do you call them?

We may have a few snapdragon bouquets this weekend! The earliest I think I’ve had them. Also Melvin (my doggo and garden assistant) thought it was effective to w**d by sitting on plants directly in front of me as I was trying to w**d. How do I tell him it’s not helpful?

Round two of the little octopi 🐙 aka ranunculus. These are my favorites of the whole year! I’ve seen a lot on social media of planning the 2026 garden which is great, but really a lot of spring flowers for 2026 started in fall of 2025. Round one has been in the ground since October. Trying to have a second batch to expand our bloom time for next year 🤞
