SPECIAL NOTICE: Do you like freshly made donuts, especially Apple Cider Donuts. Our friends at Wegmeyer Farms will be here this weekend. November 4 & 5, with their Donut truck making their irresistible fresh donuts. After searching through the fields for the perfect tree. the fresh donuts will make an excellent pick-me-up.

Moose Apple just received an email from the big guy, Santa Claus. Santa Claus has freed up 2 weekends for visiting Moose Apple. Santa will be at Moose Apple on November 25, 26, and December 2, 3, Santa's visit will be from 10AM until 2PM each day. Mark your calendars.
This weekend promises to be dry and a little windy. Four more weekends of pre-tagging. Pre-tagging ends November 12. There are still thousands of pretty trees.
Two weeks of tagging complete. Five weekends of tagging left. Remember no appointment is necessary for tagging. Come to the farm any weekend between 10am and 4pm. There are plenty of trees to choose from. If you plan on coming tomorrow, October 14, bring your rain gear. It looks like a wet one. A good day for checking out the Christmas Shop.
Pre-cut Fraser orders can be initiated by emailing your name, phone number and size of tree you want. Pre-ordering is recommended for 9-10', 10-11', and 11-12'.
We are also taking orders for custom wreaths and bows.

We hope all of our Moose Apple Family and Friends are having a great summer. The trees are shaping up nicely and we should finish trimming in the next 2 weeks. Several of you have been asking questions about the upcoming season. Hopefully, this note will answer most of the questions.
We will be operating as we have for the past 2 seasons. In order to cut a tree on the farm you have to pre-tag between Sept 30 and Nov 12. The pre-tagging dates are Sept 30, Oct 1, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28, 29, Nov 4, 5, 11, and 12. You can schedule to cut your tree on Nov 24, 25, 26, 30, Dec 1,2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 10, 14, 15, 16, and 17.
The NO PET POLICY will continue. The Professional Photography Policy remains the same.
There will be plenty of pre-cut Fraser Firs from Southern Virginia and no appointment will be necessary for them.

Update Thursday December 15: Due to weather conditions we are unable to open today. We will be open Friday - Sunday. We are sold out of pre-cut Frasers and roping. We still have several wreaths and the Christmas Sop will be open Friday - Sunday. Only customers that pre-tagged their trees will be allowed to cut their trees.
December 11 Update: We are now sold out of pre-cut Frasers. We will be open today Dec 11, 15, 16, 17, and 18 for pre-tagged customers to cut their trees. December 18 will be the last day of business for 2022 Season. We still have a supply of wreaths, roping(garland), and many unique gift items in the Christmas Shop.

December 7 Update: Only 2 weeks left for 2022 Season. We will be open Thursday-Sunday 9am-4pm through December 18 for customers to cut their pre-tagged trees. For those that did not pre-tag, we still have a selection of pre-cut Frasers. We currently have 52 6-8' Frasers, 36 8-9' Frasers, and 4 Table Top Frasers, The Christmas Shop is still well stocked with many unique items and well worth the visit, There is still a good supply of White Pine garland (roping) and a good selection of wreaths (many with specialty bows). If you have not completed your Christmas shopping, you may find the perfect gifts for some of the people on your list.

November 24, 2022 Update:
The Season is starting for real' The weather looks great for Friday and Saturday for cutting your pre-tagged tree or for selecting a pre-cut Fraser. Sunday's weather looks like it will be a little wet.
We have plenty of pre-cut Frasers from Table Tops to 9 feet. We still have 20 Frasers 9-10' and 20 Frasers 10-11'.
No appointment is necessary for the pre-cut Frasers.
There is a good supply of wreaths and roping.
Reminder: NO PETS ALLOWED.
Santa will be on the farm Saturday and Sunday 10AM-2PM,
November 17 Update:
Reminder, we will be closed on Saturday November 19 to receive the pre-cut Fraser Firs.
We will be open on Sunday November 20 from 9am to 4pm for any customer wanting a pre-cut Fraser Fir. The Christmas Shop will also be open.
Starting Friday November 25 we will be open for pre-tagged trees to be cut, pre-cut Frasers sales, and the Christmas Shop. After that Friday we will be open Thursday through Sunday each week 9am-4pm.

November 10, 2022 Update
Santa Claus is coming to Moose Apple Christmas Tree Farm. Santa will visit on:
Saturday November 26 10AM – 2PM
Sunday November 27 10AM – 2PM
Saturday December 3 10AM – 2PM
Sunday December 4 10AM – 2PM
There will also be a mailbox to deposit letters to Santa.
Pre-Tagging Coming to an End
We have now completed 6 weekends of tagging and there is only one weekend left. Tagging ends at 4PM on November 13. No appointment is necessary for tagging. If you want to cut a tree, you must pre-tag. We will also end the pre-ordering of wreaths on November 13. We will still have a good supply of wreaths for anyone that did not pre-order. We will have a good supply of pre-cut Frasers from Southern Virginia for those that do not pre-tag.

Reminder: We are taking orders for the larger pre-cut Frasers. We are now SOLD OUT of the 11-12 foot Frasers. There are still plenty of 10-11', 9-10'. and 8-9; to order. There are also many 6-8' Frasers that will be available.

Four more weekends of PRE-TAGGING. No appointment necessary for tagging. Looks like its going to be another beautiful weather weekend and even some of the Fall colors are showing. Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy the day. Here are some other local points of interest:

Smith Meadow Farm B&B 1 mile - historic home and includes gourmet breakfast featuring meats and produce from the farm.
Two weekends of Tree Pre Tagging complete. Five more weekends to Pre Tag. Pre Tagging ends on November 13. The weather looks great this weekend. Come enjoy the farm, have a picnic, visit a local winery, explore a local corn maze, pick the perfect pumpkin locally, or simply relax in the beautiful setting.
No appointment is necessary for Pre Tagging and the no pet policy continues.

September 23 Updates from Moose Apple Christmas Tree Farm:
1. Moose Apple opens on October 1 for pretagging. We will be open from 10am to 4pm each weekend through November 13 for pretagging. NO APPOINTMENT IS NECESSARY FOR PRETAGGING.
2. October and early November are excellent times to visit the Valley and check out the Fall colors. Pack a picnic lunch, we have plenty of tables for your use.
3. We will also be taking orders for custom wreaths. You can pick out the bows or pick out the ribbons and we will have your custom bow and wreath ready when you pick up your tree.
4. Friendly reminder, no pets allowed.
5. For the past two years our supplier of Blue Ice failed us. We have located a new source and will be receiving several hundred in May. They will be approximately 36” tall. If you want to plant some in May 2023, there will be signup sheets available throughout the season.
6. Starting October 1 you will also be able to pre order pre cut Fraser Firs we will receive from Southern Virginia. If you want a larger one, it is recommended.Prices were in previous email and on the web site.
The weather this year has been fantastic and the trees loved it. We have thousands of our most beautiful trees we have ever grown. You will definitely like the Canaan Firs, Douglas Firs, and many very nice Norway Spruce. There are still many Concolors, White Pines, Blue Spruce, and Blue Ice.

To Moose Apple Family and Friends:
The weather in Berryville has been great for Christmas trees this year. I may be a little biased, but I think we have some of the prettiest trees we have ever grown. There are thousands in the 6-8’ range ready and a few even taller. Budget plenty of time to select your tree because you will probably find many you like. It is also quite enjoyable strolling through the fields during the Fall season. As always, feel free to decorate your tree in the field. Just make sure items are fastened securely because we often have strong winds. One of the best decorated trees last year used solar lights.
In less than 4 weeks the PRE-TAGGING starts at Moose Apple Christmas Tree Farm. NO appointment is necessary to tag a tree. Just show up and we will provide you with the pre-tagging package. After you tag your tree, you will return your map to us and pay a $20 deposit per tree. At that time you will also make an appointment for when you want to return and cut your tree. You will be able to cut trees Thursday-Sunday starting the Friday after Thanksgiving. Please think about when you want to cut before you arrive and have two or three dates ready.
We will also be taking orders for custom bows and wreaths.
2022 Prices:
We regret that we are forced to raise our prices this year. The cost of gas and diesel have doubled, the cost of some of our chemicals like Roundup have doubled, the cost of labor has increased, and pretty much everything else has also gone up. The wholesale price of the precut Frasers also went up substantially.

The PRE-TAG only policy last year worked even better than we expected. The policy eliminated the massive traffic jams and congestion on and off the farm. It worked so well we are going to be able to increase the number of appointments per day. An additional benefit of the policy was to slow sales a little. This allowed many trees to catch up and get a little taller. We have many beautiful trees for you to checkout this season. The Canaan Firs, Douglas Firs. Norway Spruce, and Blue Ice are beautiful. There still many nice Blue Spruce and Concolors.
For those of you that wanted to plant Blue Ice in your yards, my supplier has failed the last 2 years. I have found a new supplier that has them sitting in their field right now. I have contracted for them to be delivered in early April in 2023. So put your name on the Blue Ice list when you tag your tree,
What does this mean?
Moose Apple will be open weekends from Oct 1 through Sunday Nov 13 from 10am-4pm for anyone that wishes to cut a tree from the farm in 2022 to come and pre-tag their tree. After Nov13 the fields will be closed except for people cutting their pre-tagged trees. For the 2022 season we are continuing a non-refundable $20 deposit for each pre-tagged tree. We are going to limit how many pre-tagged trees can be cut each day. This will address the traffic congestion and long lines that have occurred on Thanksgiving weekend. Part of the pre-tagging process will be selecting the day you plan to return and cut your tree. The limit will be 350 per day. Once the appointments for a day are full, you will have to select any of the other days.
We will have a nice selection of precut Fraser Firs from North Carolina for anyone that comes to the farm after Nov 13 and did not pre-tag a tree.
We will be posting additional information, including pricing, as we get closer to the 2022 season. With all of the increased costs that have been placed upon us, expect price increases.

Pre-tagging is complete for 2021. The fields are now closed.
Moose Apple will be Closed Saturday November 20 to receive and set up the pre-cut Fraser Firs in the backyard. Moose Apple will be open on Sunday November 21 from 9am-4pm for the pre-cut Fraser customers to select and pickup their Fraser Firs.
Starting Friday November 26 Moose Apple will be open for the pre-taggers to come and cut their trees on their appointment days and everyone else can come and select a pre-cut Fraser. Beginning that Friday Moose Apple will be open Thursday-Sunday from 9am-4pm through December 19. We have pre-cut Frasers from Table Tops to 12 feet.
