RIP Queen Dolly, the Smoky Mountain Songbird. Here’s her recipe for Cocoa Rub, used in her cookbook, “Dolly’s Dixie Fixin’s.” She recommends on chicken, and I say you can add it to chili, too!

Old-timey tuna macaroni salad for tonight’s all ages community meal! Usually I’m the weak link doing the grocery store run, but today I saw this 15-minute NYT cooking recipe in my email and thought it was meant to be… I tried it, it’s weird in a good way. 😋

The rest of the menu is pulled pork or chicken sandwiches, lots of sides, and a local farmer donated 48 ears of corn. Show up, share a meal, and connect with your neighbors! 🌽 ❤️

I wish I’d thought of this tip: After making vanilla paste, add some sugar into the bag your chopped vanilla arrived in. Shake it around and collect all of the vanilla caviar that’s stuck to the inside of the packaging. Homemade vanilla coffee sugar! 🙌 (Thanks to Laura C.!)

Fun fact: Thanks largely to tax breaks in the "One Big Beautiful Bill", Amazon, Alphabet, Meta and Tesla got a $51 billion dollar windfall in 2025. They made $315 billion in profits in 2025, but paid just 4.9% of that in federal taxes instead of the full 21% federal corporate rate.

I’ve worked so hard to get Gneiss Spice off of Amazon, only to have to pay $$$ in Meta ads to survive. 🤮
