🌻 Another Saturday in the books!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by Simmons Farms yesterday and chose to spend part of your weekend supporting local farmers, growers, bakers and makers. ❤️

Every week the tables look a little different because local food follows the season—and we’re starting to notice that season changing.

There’s still plenty of summer goodness being harvested, but around the farm we’re beginning to see little hints that fall isn’t very far away. 🍂🎃

And we have some fun things ahead.

For now, we’re starting another week of growing, harvesting, gathering and getting fresh local foods ready for you.

Thank you for continuing to shop small, eat local and support the people producing food right here in our community. 🌻

🍅 One of the best things about heirloom tomatoes? They’re not all the same.

That’s actually the point. ❤️

The locally grown heirloom tomatoes we’re fortunate to offer can include varieties such as Abe Lincoln, Beefsteak, Arkansas Traveler and Cherokee Purple—each with its own size, shape, color, texture and flavor.

Some are big and deeply ribbed. Some are smaller and rounder. Some ripen bright red while others develop beautiful purple or dusky tones.

They aren’t designed to look identical sitting in a grocery-store display.

They’re grown for flavor. 🍅

And when you shop at Simmons Farms, we love being able to tell you where your food came from and introduce you to the local farmers who grew it.

August is busy. School schedules are returning, calendars are filling up, and somehow everyone still expects dinner every night. 😉
