Honoring Service. Remembering Sacrifice. Celebrating Bethel’s History.

A new mural at Da-Nite in Bethel features one of the most recognizable images in American history, the raising of the American flag at Iwo Jima during World War II. The mural was painted by artist Mike Bennett. Learn more about his artwork here: https://www.facebook.com/MikeBennettArtStudio/

While the 250th anniversary of the United States has passed, the opportunity to continue recognizing our nation’s history and the people who helped shape it remains.

This mural honors Bethel-area veterans of World War II, connecting a powerful moment in our nation’s history with the men and women from our own community who answered the call to serve.

It also celebrates Da-Nite, a longtime Bethel business that is now entering a new chapter under new ownership. Places like Da-Nite are part of the story of our downtown, and this mural represents both a recognition of its history and an exciting new phase in its future.

Public art gives us a chance to remember where we have been while looking ahead to where we are going.

Da-Nite is open Tuesday - Saturday, 6:00 a.m.- 2:00 pm. Stop by, grab breakfast or lunch, and enjoy the company and mural.

We have had several people ask for something besides fish soooo…. We will deliver!

Saturday we will have fish plates ($14), SHRIMP plates($14), and a combination plate($18)!

Sides will be fries, Cole slaw, hush puppies.

On these hot days when you don’t want a good Old Fashioned burger you can always opt for a lighter lunch with a grilled chicken salad, fried chicken salad, or a cheeseburger salad.
