The second and third-place Gets were also sired by Ayatollah.
2. The Champion Bull (๐๐น๐ฒ๐ป๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฑ ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐ผ๐น๐น๐ฎ๐ต ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ), Reserve Champion Bull (๐๐น๐ฒ๐
๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ฆ๐ฏ), and Reserve Champion Female (๐๐ผ๐ป๐ป๐ถ๐ฒโ๐ ๐ฆ๐๐น๐๐ฎ๐ป ๐๐ฎ๐๐) were all sired by Ayatollah.
The Champion Female (๐ช๐ผ๐ผ๐ฑ๐น๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ ๐๐ฟ๐๐น๐ฒ ๐ด๐ฐ๐ญ๐ต) was sired by Sangamon Irish Plumber and was the first calf of the matriarch of todayโs โMyrtle Boโ cow family.
3. A Shorthorn steer sired by ๐ช.๐ข. ๐๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฏ๐ was crowned Grand Champion of the National Western for the first time in 35 years.
Prior wins: 1906, 1910, 1927, and 1951.
The steer weighed 1,263 lbs, stood 55โ tall, and sold for $9,100 to the Denver Holiday Inn.
