I’m so lucky to have started this business with Andy ❤️
Nothing has been easy. Leaving your country, your family, your friends, and starting from zero in a brand new place with a new language is hard. Then learn to run a business in a foreign country, dealing with permits, regulations, and a million things you never even knew existed .
But one of the biggest challenges has been being a foreign woman starting a business in a new country.
There is so much that goes on behind the scenes of a business, but when I look back, I’m incredibly proud of everything we have accomplished together.
And something that makes me especially proud is that around 95% of our staff are women :) and about 45% of our team are Hispanic women ❤️
For those of you who don’t know, I’m from Chile 🇨🇱 and I’m very proud of being Chilean :)
September 15 through October 15 is Hispanic Heritage Month, and we’re very proud to be part of the Hispanic community here in The Lehigh Valley.
Almost all of our staff in Bethlehem are bilingual and speak Spanish, so if Spanish is your first language, you are always welcome to order and talk to us in Spanish :)
Over the years, we’ve also had so much fun bringing some Hispanic-inspired flavors into Donerds such as guava cheesecake, dulce de leche, churro, Mexican chocolate, margarita , and many more.
Thank you to 69 News for wanting to share our story, and to the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for thinking of us. It really meant a lot.
And to all the immigrant and foreign women who dream about opening a business but don’t feel ready , I would say just do it. If you think you are not ready , you are probably never feel 100% ready. You’ll learn along the way. You’ll make mistakes, figure things out, and discover that your mind is so powerful that you can anything you want :)
It’s not an easy path, but it’s an amazing one, And I wouldn’t change it.
