There's a freezer at the back of the barn at Conundrum Farm in Kent, and it's full of Connecticut raised poultry.

Sarah's stand sits right on Kent Road, red barn and silo, open seven days a week. Fresh produce, native perennials, cut flowers by the bucket, and now a case stocked with Steadfast Farms chicken and turkey.

Whole birds, halves, split breasts, thighs, and drumsticks. Ground chicken and ground turkey. Chicken stock. Four chicken sausages: sweet Italian, hot Italian, spicy garlic, and cilantro lime.

All of it is raised on pasture in Bethlehem and processed at our own USDA-inspected plant. Pasture to package without ever leaving Connecticut.

Stop in for the tomatoes. Leave with dinner too.

The 3rd Annual Veteran Farmers’ Market is coming up, and Steadfast Farms is proud to once again be part of this celebration of Connecticut’s Veteran farmers, makers, and food businesses.

Steadfast Farms owner Jared McCool recently joined Renee DiNino in the studio to talk about the upcoming market, CT Veteran Grown, and the importance of supporting Veteran-owned farms and businesses.
