Meet Jerry, one of the hardest-working members of Cote Farm! 🐱🚜

If you’re traveling around Meeting House Road, you may occasionally spot Jerry out and about. Don’t worry, she isn’t lost! Jerry is our working cat, and roaming the farm and surrounding area is all part of her job.

So, what exactly is a working cat? Working cats are cats that live primarily outdoors around farms, barns, and other properties where they help naturally control populations of mice, rats, and other unwanted pests. They’re provided with food, water, shelter, and veterinary care, but they also enjoy the freedom to patrol their territory and do what cats do best. 🐭

Jerry has made Cote Farm her home and takes her responsibilities pretty seriously, even if her work schedule includes the occasional nap in the sun. 😂

So if you see Jerry around Meeting House Road, there’s no need to scoop her up or assume she needs rescuing. She’s most likely just making her rounds before heading back to the farm.

Another rhubarb harvest is in the books, and we’re thrilled to share that we harvested 375 pounds of rhubarb for eighteen twenty wines!

Combined with the 100 pounds we harvested earlier this season for Sweetcream Dairy, we’ve harvested a total of 475 pounds of rhubarb this year, that’s 175 pounds more than last year!

Seeing our rhubarb become part of incredible local products is something we’re incredibly proud of, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to work with such amazing local businesses.

As we continue to grow and split our rhubarb plants, we look forward to increasing our harvest each season. We’re excited to see what the future holds and can’t wait to continue supplying fresh, locally grown rhubarb for years to come!

Thank you to everyone who supports our farm and follows along on this journey. Here’s to another successful harvest and an even bigger one next year!

The chicken resort is officially complete! 🐔

After a lot of planning and hard work, all of the girls have officially moved into their newly updated home, and they couldn’t be happier! They’ve been spending the day scratching, exploring, dust bathing, and soaking up the sunshine.

It’s always rewarding to see a project come together, especially when our feathered ladies get to enjoy the finished product (And Chad).Here’s to happy, healthy hens and plenty of fresh eggs to come!

Cote Farm is trying a new adventure! We are in the process of incubating 6 Narragansett Turkeys! A big thank you to Kathy N Don Pelletier and family for the eggs and education!

Also Meet George! He is the sole reason for this family line of Narragansett Turkeys and is one sweet fella!

Hopefully we will see some baby turkeys in 28 days!

What an incredible harvest day at the farm!

Today we harvested 100 pounds of fresh rhubarb that was delivered to Sweetcream Dairy. We couldn’t be more excited knowing that something we’ve grown right here on the farm will be transformed into a delicious ice cream flavor for everyone to enjoy!

There’s something special about seeing local agriculture and local businesses come together, and we’re proud to play a small part in creating a product that showcases the best of Maine.

If you haven’t visited Sweetcream Dairy yet, you’re truly missing out on some of the best ice cream Maine has to offer. Keep an eye out for their upcoming rhubarb creation, we know it’s going to be amazing!

We want to thank everyone that has reached out or helped support our local business in any fashion! We had a very busy week! Multiple deliveries, merchandise sales, egg sales, construction/demo jobs and a whole bunch of quotes! Your support means the world to us!
