We are having babies!! 🐣

This cranky mama has been broody for months (I've never had a hen broody for so long) so we decided to just let her hatch some babies, and the day has finally come.

I came out to do my afternoon chores and was presented with this cute little face 🥹

We (my husband) got mama and baby moved to our "transition" area along with her other 6 eggs. 1 egg has started pipping and is almost beak out so hopefully tomorrow we will have atleast one more baby.

Once the rain passes, this area will get some fresh bedding for the fresh babies. 🩷

It's been a hot minute, quite literally.

But here's a batch of everything cheddar bagels 🥯 that I whipped up tonight and when I tell you they smell so, so good 🤤

Also, we have a tiny new addition to our little homestead 🐱

Meet little Miss Lainey. Shes been with us for 3 days and is already spoiled absolutely rotten. 🩷

I pan fried up some fresh Okra to go along with our chicken and some potatoes that I canned a couple months ago.

Your suppers don't have to take forever or be "fancy" to be delicious. 🤤

I love taking in the beauty that surrounds our little homestead. Is it perfect? No. But, God's handiwork is beautiful, and we are truly blessed with what He's given us.

Our children are growing, our animals have room to roam, the trees and fields are beautiful to looks at, and our garden is shaping up to provide just what we need this year. Every day, I am reminded just how blessed I am to live this life.

What some might call small or simple, is the very life I prayed for. I enjoy the slow pace, I enjoy centering my days around my kid's schedules, and I even enjoy the loud chaos that is my house most times; But most of all I enjoy being with the family I created.

This homesteading journey is one of learning, of growing, and sometimes of making mistakes, but we are having so much fun becoming more self-sufficient and better stewards of what God has given us.

Happy Humpday Y'all 🩷

The grill is going, the kids are playing, and the weather is STUNNING.

I took my evening lap just admiring God's creation and I am just overjoyed, truly.

I love seeing nature at its finest on our little property. Moreso, I love learning what all we actually have growing out here on its on.

We learned this spring that we have a TON of wild blackberry bushes and I fully plan on getting creative with them this year.

What's your favorite ways to use blackberries, because Im gonna be up to my neck in them. 🤣
