Yes, I have an abundance of chickens! Selling any of them isn’t easy. Instead of automatically giving their eggs cooked back to my chickens I’d rather help the community save a little money and eat freshly. Getting close to getting 300 eggs a day now. Eggs in store vary between about $2.50-$5.90 per 18 count plus tax so a good deal is a good deal. Short’s farm store & more

The homesteader behind the scenes.
If you walk up to the front of the stand, you think of a normal local homesteader, standing proudly behind a beautiful display of dark chocolate and speckled green eggs, artisan breads, and farm-fresh goods.
She’s patient, she’s knowledgeable, and she can tell you exactly which chicken breed laid which colorful egg in your carton.
To the casual shopper, she’s just the friendly face trying in her local business to make ends meet.
But if you could pull back the canvas backdrop, you’d meet the real farm stand owner—the one who doesn’t have time to worry about looking polished.
Behind the scenes, she is a whirlwind of fierce dedication and pure grit. She’s a full-time mom managing a chaotic household with one hand while running a bustling agricultural business with the other. By the time she even arrives at the stand, she has already lived a full day’s work.
