Little Mr. Uno is one month old today! He is constantly cracking us up with his antics from his hops and zoomies to doing parkour off of everything including Bob and Stew! He is quite the wiggle worm and wants to be down and playing instead of taking selfies. Poor Olive is so excited to have a friend her size, but little does she know that he will soon be bigger than she is. Loving watching him grow and develop.

Uno had a big day today as he got to have a play date with his uncles Bob and Stew and aunt Olive and for the second weekend in a row with visitors (last weekend he got to visit with our neighbor Susana and some of her kids, a niece (I think) and her grandbabies). Today’s visitors were our friends Danielle, her husband Jeremy and their kiddos Abby and Jeremiah. We did end up putting Djali and Uno back in the small pen for the night because Djali was pretty grumpy towards Olive if she looked at Uno (and even though we’re positive we’re in the clear of a repeat of Djali’s surprise of giving us a baby just to be sure with how grumpy she was towards Olive). Uno by the way is as big as Olive at almost a month old. He will for sure sleep well tonight thanks to the massive zoomies he had during his play date.

2 days late! But little man is 2 weeks old! He is such a love muffin and likes to hop all over and likes playing with his human Dad and snuggling his human Mom. Best part is that we decided that we will be keeping him since he was the first baby born here on Mo Chroí Farm.

After a few weeks of going back and forth of looking at Djali and wondering is she fat or could she be pregnant and joking about the possibility that we got 2 goats for the price of one and then saying nah she’s just fluffy for the Winter. Well Djali really showed us we were wrong about it just being her winter coat and weight on Tuesday night. Poor Ryan got home from work to hearing her caterwauling in the pen, so he rushed to put his bag down and ran to check what was going on only to turn the corner to see her laying down with a head and hoof already out. By the time he changed into his muck boots and sweatshirt and sent me a text telling me that she was kidding (I called him back to tell him that that was not a funny joke as we were nowhere prepared for this when I realized based in his voice it wasn’t a joke) she had delivered a healthy and big baby boy before he returned to their pen and was already cleaning him off and doing her job as a Mama. Since little boy was the only baby and our first ever live birth at Mo Chroí Farm please allow us to introduce Uno.

P.S. Neither Bob or Stew are the Daddy they got fixed after we got them. We figure she was a month/month and a half pregnant when we got her. In looking at Uno our favorite Vet Tech at our Vet’s office (who raises and breeds goats) clocked that he has little to no ears which indicates that my sweet little Nigerian Dwarf Djali was bred by a full sized LaMancha Billy goat. Very grateful to her and my friend’s brother in law who both calmed my nerves about her having a baby without us being prepared.

There’s a lot of planning going on for this year for Mo Chroí and we’re super excited to make things everything come to fruition. As predicted the girlies Djali and Olive are not the biggest fans of the snow along with Bob and Stew. The chickens were not the biggest fans of it either. Oh and according to my husband Ryan, I morphed into Randy from A Christmas Story this year while checking on everyone the morning after the snowfall 🤣🤣. Before the snow we were able to get the goats a spool to climb on which is the first piece of their future jungle gym and they seem to really like it so far. Oh and what I consider a BIG win, Olive is finally coming up to the fence m of their pen when I bring treats (she’s starting to show more interest in treats as well but still not wanting any) to the others 🤞🏻 she starts to let me pet her as well soon.

The goaties have their winter coats and are looking quite fluffy. Djali finally let me pet her and sought me out for pets (granted I was distributing treats as a distraction). Ryan worked on winterizing their enclosure a bit more getting it ready for the cold temps that are supposed to come through and Bob kept trying to be his supervisor. Olive is still a tad skittish, but I know we’ll win her over. At one point Olive and one of our roosters Fred were standing next to each other eyeing one another and got to see a size comparison between our littlest goatie and our biggest rooster.
