A small look into our current brooding status…. That is about 600 quail as we continue to move forward with great progress!

We’re expanding going into this spring/summer with the mindset to provide quality bobwhite quail for the upcoming 2026/2027 South Texas quail season.

While we’re not new to raising quail or bobwhites, Red Dirt Poultry Farm is now moving into producing flight-conditioned bobwhite quail specifically for hunting ranches, dog trainers, and controlled releases.

Our focus is simple:
Strong birds that flush hard, lift clean, and sustain flight.

These birds are being raised and conditioned with performance in mind — built for strong wing strength, explosive lift-off, and the kind of flight that creates a quality field experience.

If you’re interested in availability, future batches, or want to get on a contact list, feel free to message us directly.

We are not limited to the South Texas region.
We are happy to deliver within 500 miles providing the quantity of birds ordered quantifies the delivery.

We are also new to the market and we would like to build lasting relationships with customers that find value in the birds we supply.
With that said, we would entertain the idea of providing a batch of birds at an introductory rate to open doors and build rapport along with providing an example of the quality we strive to provide.

Rockin’ stylish winter hairstyles means keeping those combs frostbite free! Whether it’s a mohawk or comb over, an Ayam Cemani’s single comb catches the cold pretty easy.

Here at Red Dirt Poultry Farm we have combs of all shapes and sizes and keeping them looking their best is important to us!

Check out these simple tips, because no one wants their chickens walking around looking like they stuck their head in a freezer!!

✔️ Ventilation, ventilation, ventilation!
Warm + moist air = frostbite waiting to happen.
✔️ No drafts at roost height
Chickens like airflow—but not a winter wind tunnel.
✔️ Keep the coop dry
Wet bedding is the enemy. So is the chicken who knocks over the waterer (you know the one).
✔️ Petroleum jelly for tall combs
Not a fashion statement… but your birds will thank you with eggs.
✔️ Provide wide, flat roosts
Chickens can sit on their feet to stay warm—nature’s little heated slippers.
