Time is flying by and we are slowly getting more weeds out of the garden and plants in! The boys and I got their decorative corn planted. They are excited to sell it this fall. I’m getting excited for flowers! Our first dahlia is up, the gladiolus are starting to pop up and the first sunflowers went in today. The statice is almost all planted and the liatris, yarrow and lilies are doing well. More snapdragons and celosia to come, as well as all the rest of the sunflowers, glads and dahlias to get planted! We plan to open for our first Thursday on July 9th this year.

Happy Mothers Day! It’s been so busy that we haven’t managed to post in a few weeks. It’s really starting to look like spring now though. The liatris, yarrow, and lilies are growing. The first row of dahlias are in, as well as some stock and snapdragons. For veggies the garlic and rhubarb are doing great, the onions, peas, cold crops and carrots are in too. Still plenty of weeding and planting to do but we are making progress!

We went from 2” of April snow to a beautiful weekend! Great weather to start tackling the spring garden clean up. The garlic, rhubarb and chives are doing great, all the lilies have been taken care of, and the liatris, yarrow and volunteer sunflowers are popping up! We will start planting the starts in the garden in a couple of weeks since more cold weather is forecasted.

The seeds are sprouting! We’ve also been making some progress digging and potting the lilies to rescue them from the grass that has been taking over. They’ll be living in pots for awhile but don’t worry, they will still bloom for this season. The boys and Grandma started their giant pumpkin seeds and they sure are growing fast!

The latest snow has melted, the first day of spring is officially tomorrow and we started taking the Christmas lights back down today. In the garden we found garlic, rhubarb, chives, lilies and yarrow coming up today. We are also starting seeds and looking forward to another season!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Malison Farms! We’ve had more lights go out than we hoped this season (especially on the big spruce tree) but it still looks pretty!

12/14/2025

The lights are working! Come see them before it starts raining again!

12/13/2025

We are hoping for more snow because a lot of the lights by the house just won’t stay on in the rain!

12/04/2025

The lights aren’t quite done but the big spruce is on!
