Wrapping up the last of my sales commitments this weekend and harvesting some last minute things to freeze or put up for winter before I skip town for a few weeks. The end of the garden season is always bittersweet. I am looking forward to rest but will also miss the dirt that cakes in all the lines of my hands and the sounds of the chickadees and goldfinches in the sunflowers and watching our children pluck and munch cucumbers while they help.

Feeling thankful in this harvest time for the bit of ground we keep and tend and love. May you all enjoy a bountiful autumn and a restful winter!

It was our treat to host the Sara Ness crew out at the garden today and to enjoy conversation, games, harvesting, and all their beautiful artwork! I look forward to this day every year. These folks never notice the September disarray of weeds and things half-dead. They see beauty in every petal and crevice and hidden vegetable beneath the leaves. Thank you for coming and bringing the joy & wonder!
