As Mississippi continues enforcing seafood origin disclosure laws, some restaurant owners say a bill now before the Senate could simplify compliance and lower costs.

House Bill 1466 would allow restaurants to use menu symbols paired with a clearly visible legend instead of labeling each seafood item individually. We are saddened to share the passing of Mrs. Ruby Grace Fayard, nearly 99 years old, and a cornerstone of Ocean Springs Seafood for more than five decades.

Miss Ruby was known to many of you for her warmth, her presence at the seafood market, and her beloved seafood dishes that became local favorites.
Our family is grateful for the support Ocean Springs Seafood has received over the years and for the continued kindness shown during this time.
