UPDATE:
Woodside Silkies is currently done breeding and selling birds. We have decided to focus more on our chickens as a hobby and other endeavors we have going on. Thank you for all the support over the years.

I just want to give an update on what’s going on at Woodside Silkies. I took a break from hatching this spring and downsized my breeding groups. That left me with just a handful of beautiful birds to be able to maybe pick it up again sometime this summer or next spring. Today I went out to my chicken coops to find 12 dead Silkies that had been attacked by a hawk most likely. At this point, I will not be hatching any chicks for sale this year. The future of breeding here is up in the air as I decide whether to rebuild or just move onto other hobbies. I have no birds available.

If you make an appointment to come get chicks, please be on time. If you’re running a little late, MESSAGE ME. If you are more than 20 minutes late and haven’t been in contact with me, I may not be here and you may need to reschedule. You may even be added to a Do Not Sell List that is shared among many breeders if I feel it is necessary. This is my hobby and I have work and family obligations as well. Please be mindful of this. My time is valuable and so is yours. Thank you!

1) All chicks are straight run (uns*xed). Silkies especially are a slow maturing breed and can take up to 6 months+ before you know the s*x. DNA testing is the only way to know for sure as chicks.

2) All chicks are first come first serve. I do not typically keep a waiting list for chicks as I have hatches weekly. Chicks will only be held if you have an appointment within 24 hours. If you fail to show up, your choices may not be available later.

3) 2025 pricing: chicks start at $15 and up from there

4) I do not ship chicks at this time. Chicks must be picked up in BIRCH RUN, MI.

3. Partridge

Many people are asking about silkie chicks this year. At this time I don’t have any available and nothing in the incubators. It’s difficult to heat my chick nursery right now so I am waiting a bit longer to offer chicks. I do have a chocolate fun pen of adult silkies that I need to go through and find new coops for. Please be patient as I decide which ones and post photos. The cold and snow this winter have added some difficulty to my normal hatching habits.
