Spring produce is starting to be picked, we will start posting as we have things available. Today we sent some fresh spinach and radishes to Perry County Grows. Along with their egg order.

The first 150 chicks of over 600 we are starting this week arrived this morning. These are New Hampshire which are one of the original breeds used for broiler production. Our goal is to create our own sustainable flock to hatch our own meat birds.

Busy day today before the next 2 weeks of rain. We planted carrots, lettuce, radishes, beets, Swiss chard, and peas. Our lettuce, radishes and pak choy planted on valentines day are up under the row cover.

You've asked, we're responding. We are taking orders for organic fed pasture raised chicken. This will be based on interest as we need to sell enough chicken to be able to run a minimum of 100 birds which allows us to purchase chicks and feed at reduced price which allows us to off the most competitive prices. This month we will be at the Dale Park on the 21st.
We will be taking pre-orders for pick up that morning! To place a pre order you can call or text (812)-639-4350. You can also order on our website and place a comment that you will be picking it up that morning!

Now's your chance! Lock in your egg needs for the summer! By signing up for an egg CSA you can lock in how many dozen you would like delivered per week/month, starting mid May for 16 weeks. CSA Eggs are $3.50/dozen. Saving you 50 cents over retail price.

Our chickens are fed an all natural diet made from grains we grow on our farm. We currently do not allow them to free range due to predator issues,(we are working on a solution so stay tuned) but they are given ample space inside where they are safe from outside predators. Looking for a place to get local raised and processed chicken. Our chicken CSA is a great option. By ordering through our CSA you save approximately 10-20% off of our retail prices, we are able to offer this because we are able to preorder the chicks and supplies now allowing us to lock in our prices at a reduced cost which we are happy to pass on to our customers.

Our chicken is raised antibiotic free and fed a diet made with grains raised on own farm.

Our first batch of maple syrup is ready! We currently have 15 pints avaliable. $15/each. Until temperature cools back down and the sap runs again.

We have 3 colors of syrup from this round. Color of syrup is affected by multiple things such as original sugar content of the sap, how long the sap was held prior to boiling and length of boil.

The lighter color the syrup is typically more mild butterscotch type flavor and as it gets darker you get a more robust maple flavor.

We do not fine filter our syrup so you may notice the syrup is not crystal clear and you may get some settings in the bottom of your jar this is what is called niter or "sugar sand" it is minerals such as calcium and magnesium that are in the sap that precipitated out during the boiling process. Sugar sand is safe to eat, we usually use the clear off the top and use the bottom layer in the jar in oatmeal, or is some recipie.
