On Tuesday, September 29, Lyle attended Aquaculture Decision-Maker Day, where farmers shared the good and the bad of the industry with legislators, including a state senator, along with people from the Department of Agriculture and the Indiana Board of Animal Health. He spoke about how our farm started, how it grew, and where we are today, and our son Eli attended and took part too. The point Lyle set out to make was to educate lawmakers and make it easier for aquaculture to expand in Indiana, especially in the food fish market. Lyle is thankful that Indiana is an aquaculture-friendly state.

Meet Lyle, one of the owners of Andry's Fish Farm. Some mornings start at a desk instead of a pond, since health testing and permitting take up more hours than people think. But most of the day still happens between the tanks and the truck, netting fish by hand, because it's not like fishing, it's raising fish, and that means showing up for the animals no matter the weather. By the time the crew's out at a pond together, it feels less like work and more like family.

Another day, another truck loaded up and headed out. Today's fish went out to Toledo, Shipshewana, and the Corydon area, three different stops, one full morning of netting, weighing, and loading before anybody's even had lunch. Same process every time, just a different destination each trip.

Notice: Effective immediately, due to the high cost of diesel fuel, we will be charging a $3.00 fuel surcharge per order on sales route trucks instead of raising all of our fish prices. As soon as diesel goes back below $5.00 per gallon, we will drop the charge. Thank you for continuing to support our family business during these trying times!
