I am applying for the High Five Grant for moms and women’s entrepreneurs.

Why do I farm? I want clean nutritious food for my family and community. In 2019 I had an opportunity to start over and bought a piece of land to farm in 2020.

I wanted to grow food that was free of chemicals and pesticides. Food that was nutrient dense and full of flavor and color.

My farm grows food for a CSA (community supported agriculture) membership. We sell at a local farmer’s market and to several restaurants in our area.

I wanted to also have a deeper impact in the local community and started a monthly farm school. Families come to have a first hand experience and learn about where their food comes from and how it is grown.

As a mom of three my daughters have watched me grow and develop the farm over the past five years. The girls have worked along side me, help run the farm stand, and cheered me on as we have built this business together.

Thank you for this opportunity to receive funding that would go towards irrigation upgrade for the farm and additional wildlife fencing for keeping the local deer population out of the fields.
