How to become a smart insect scout when you can’t see the 🥬 pest! like Diamondback moth and Cabbage loopers feed on the leaf lamina (inside first). Leaf skeletonization is common for caterpillars. tend to feed from the leaf edge in random fashion and move toward the center of the leaves (outside first, then inside). So the insect feeding behavior are sort-of reverse of each other! It is an ‘insect pest party’ out here in Alabama with very little beneficial or natural enemy population! Watch out and scout your crops!! Use the Farming Basics App to look up more major pests and sustainable IPM management recommendations for each one.
