SART, SARTI, SARTI
The latest and greatest in the world of Aperitivos is Sarti Rosa. Apparently, a blitz on social media and making it difficult to acquire has really sparked the curiosity of many of our clients. Here are a few fun facts about Sarti Rosa.
1. Owned by the Campari Group, which owns Campari and Aperol.
2. This is a sweeter, more tropical version of a classic Aperitivo.
3. We think it tastes like a tropical Jolly Rancher.
4. All of our clients are OBSESSED with less sugar, but this is sweeter than its big brothers.
5. Sarti means tailors in Italian. it was the family name of the founders in 1885.
6. Sarti (14%) alcohol content, is actually higher in proof than Aperol (11%)
7. Psychological studies show that pink drinks create feelings of pleasure, and taste sweeter to clients.
8. Sarti is gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian. Interesting.
9. Sarti uses the same 3-2-1 recipe as Aperol and MANY OTHER SPRITZES.
10. A lime should be the garnish for a Sarti Spritz because it balances the flavors of the mango and passion fruit.

ART AND V***E CLICQUOT
Yayoi Kusama, the internationally famous artist recently passed away. She had collaborated twice with V***e Clicquot on multi-medium art projects in 2006 and in 2020. She was famous for her polka dot prints and serpentine polka dot sculptures. Kusama also had a signature red bobbed wig and polka dot outfits which were unmistakable. She was very transparent about her struggles with mental illness and how she channeled those struggles into her art. She made people look at everyday objects through her polka dot lens. She once said that she wanted to the whole world covered in dots. It's not surprising that V***e Clicquot Champagne chose to work with Kusama. She embodied the strength, creativity, and audacity that the Champagne brand represents. Hopefully everyone in the world can channel their energy and creativity to make the world a beautiful place.

LOST LORE 2026 LIMITED EDITION "POCA MADRE" TEQUILA
Lost Lore "Poca Madre" is a limited-edition, cask-strength, Rosa Reposado tequila, in a striking pink bottle. It is aged in American oak whiskey barrels and finished in Port wine casks, offering notes of sweet agave, dark fruits, and cocoa. Produced at NOM 1414 (Sergio Cruz) deep in the Highlands of Jalisco. This region is known for the red clay soil and high altitude that enhances the Blue Weber Agave with bright flavors. The agave is slow-cooked in brick ovens, roller milled, and naturally fermented in stainless steel tanks. Then they run it twice through copper pot stills. The "Poca Madre" develops a complexity that's rare at the 96 proof level. The crazy part is that it is fermented with champagne yeast and aged to the SOUNDS OF CLASSICAL MUSIC. This release was designed by some serious women in the Tequila world including Lost Lore owner Sarah Lamas, Tish Anderson, MariCarmen Ortiz-Conway, Christine Hansen, and Esmeralda Ortiz. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to a foundation in Jalisco supporting breast cancer awareness and early detection (pink bottle). BTW, the name Poca Madre comes from Mexican slang meaning "awesome" or "incredible". Bottom line is that this is a delicious, extremely small batch release (around 2,000 bottles in the world), so once it's gone, it's gone. Hope you get one. MTV AIRED 45 YEARS AGO TODAY
Wow, can you believe it's been 45 years since the Music Television station aired? There are so many fond memories of waiting for new videos to be released, or watching the VJ's and listening to their musical insights. Many of you know that the first video played on MTV was "Video Killed The Radio Star" by The Buggles. Did you also know that the intro for the first show was "Ladies and gentlemen, rock and roll!" The station has since morphed into something totally different, and doesn't have the charm and edgy nature it did back in the eighties. Which makes me nostalgic and leaves me thinking about their famous tagline, "I want my MTV!". The eighties were a great time, hopefully you make great memories today and everyday.

You may have come across this bottle periodically at finely curated whiskey shops. This is St. George Spirits "Baller" American Single Malt Whiskey. It's a unique, 94-proof, California single malt. It features a 100% malted barley mash bill, aged 3 to 4 years, filtered through maple charcoal, and finished in house-made Umeshu (Japanese-style plum liqueur) casks. You can drink this whiskey neat, on the rocks or in cocktails. St. George spirits created this product in honor of the Highball Culture in Japan, so it's designed to be used in a Highball cocktail which is fun and refreshing.
AROMA: Bright plum, lychee, honeyed malt, apricot, and subtle wood smoke.
FLAVORS: Oily mouthfeel with intense stone fruit, green tea, warm malted mash.

NATIONAL SCOTCH DAY
There are so many Scotches that I could have highlighted today, but this one is so delicious. Every time I sip on the Glenmorangie Nectar 16 Year, it reminds me of good friends, sunsets, and happy times. This Highland Single Malt has sweet notes that are complex and layered. The exotic flavors are a result of the various barrels used in the aging process. They actually use a copper still that is as tall as a Giraffe to get the best distillate. Hopefully, you'll enjoy your favorite Scotch today, and make a toast to anything that makes you happy.

MAKER'S MARK STAR HILL FARM 2026
Maker’s Mark Star Hill Farm is an experimental cask strength American wheat whisky. The 116.4-proof expression contains NO CORN. Instead, it uses a derived mash bill of 62% malted wheat, 27% wheat, and 11% malted barley, featuring hard red and hard white wheat varieties to enhance complexity. The 2026 Star Hill Farms is Crafted from two distinct mash bills and blended from seven and eight-year-old whiskies.
This release focuses on grain diversity, regenerative agriculture, and the concept of estate terroir. The bottle carries an "Estate Whiskey" certification from the Estate Whiskey Alliance, recognizing that all grains are grown on estate owned land and use sustainable farming practices. The 2026 edition is very different from its inaugural 2025 predecessor. The 2026 edition is more vibrant, expressive, and fruit forward on the nose which leads to a lighter mouthfeel with a dry, softly spiced cinnamon and dark chocolate finish.
As usual, this was a super limited release (3 bottles). So grab a bottle today, or you might have to wait until next year.
