Happy Birthday to our founder, Ms. Virginia Ward!
The mission of Southwest Birmingham Community Farm is to enhance the quality of urban life and stren and is co-sponsored by Magic City Agriculture Project.
Southwest Birmingham Community Farm was founded by Project Hopewell, Inc. UPDATE! We are working to convert Southwest Birmingham Community Farm (SWBCF) into a financially self-sustaining organic farm. The Vision of Southwest Birmingham Community Farm is different from any other community plot around Birmingham. Our goal is to become a financially self-sustaining youth cooperative training center.
We will hire a farm manager and three youth from the Hillman Neighborhood. While working for Southwest Birmingham Community farm the youth will be given a chance to develop their agricultural and landscaping skills, along with their business and leadership skills. All produce not sold from Southwest Birmingham Community Farm will be donated to the community through Project Hopewell, Inc.'s food bank. We need a total 0f $5,000. We are currently at $2,933 in 3 weeks time! If you want to make this vision a reality, which will also create living wage jobs in the city of Birmingham, please donate here to our crowdfunding campaign:
