This is my talented friend Mary who decided home economics was not her thing and wanted to switch to shop but the principal said nope unless mom and dad sign off on it. Her dad championed her by sending a note:“Mary has permission to take shop forever”. The principal didn't know what hit him. Mary became a proficient in woodworking and even spent three years learning the ropes. She then rocked trade school and learned electricity installation. Fortunately for me when I mentioned I had a stubborn drawer. She fixed it in no time. Now she refurbishes antique furniture with style and finesse. Here is an example of her latest refurbished piece. The drawers are lined with velvet. All I learned in Home Economics was how to bake cookies! My hero!

My large and aesthetically pleasing River Birch tree is the sole source of shade for my property; however, its root system is causing significant disruptions, necessitating its removal.

1500 plugs probably doesn’t seem like a lot for those big flower farmers who have 5 or 10 hoop houses but it’s time consuming and a relief so I can get to the other flower beds in my outdoor gardens. Next is moving the seedlings I started indoors in January to the outside gardens. Spring
is running 100 miles an hour so time matters. I cannot wait to show you this place in May!

I got 288 rose colored lisianthus in the ground yesterday. They are sooo beautiful and even these aren’t as gorgeous as the champagne and Rosanne browns I hope to finish planting this weekend. Hoop houses are great to protect from rain so I can work but not when it’s lightning. So I will wait until the thunder and lightening pass. I am having sooooo much fun!
