I have always dreaded the day Iād make this post⦠but here we are.
I made the most difficult decision to end Ilaās suffering after months of struggling to keep weight on her and control her arthritis.
Yes, she was a goat. But she was also the first goat I ever called mine, the goat who made me fall in love with farming, the goat that was so very patient with me as I learned from mistake after mistake, the goat I would go sit with to get away from the chaos of life, the goat who stood there patiently as I cried into her coat about whatever life threw at me⦠the goat that I grew up with.
I donāt think Iāll ever get used to not having her greet me each morning and evening. Not hearing her when I walk to the barn is so foreign.
13 years just werenāt enough with you, sweet Ila May. Rest easyā„ļø
