Tomorrow, Ranch Cryogenics proudly begins its 40th year in business.

Since 1987, Ranch Cryogenics has been committed to solving some of the industrial gas industry's most challenging projects. What began as a small family business has grown into a company trusted by customers throughout North America for plant relocations, commissioning, maintenance, engineering support, and specialty industrial gas services.

Over the past four decades, we've had the privilege of serving customers across the industrial gas, semiconductor, aerospace, hydrogen, municipal water treatment, glass manufacturing, healthcare, food processing, and advanced manufacturing industries.

For nearly four decades, we've built our reputation by taking on the projects that others often won't.

The reputation we've built over nearly 40 years wasn't created by one project or one individual. It has been earned by people who take pride in their work, look out for one another, and genuinely care about our customers and our company.

As we begin our 40th year, we remain committed to the values that got us here. Our goal isn't simply to become a bigger company—it's to become a better one. Back in the field this week working on a set of mole sieve vessels from the early 1990s that are starting to show their age.

We’re troubleshooting production issues and tracking down desiccant carryover—never a simple answer on systems like this. Could be internals, support screens, distribution, or years of wear finally catching up.

These are the kinds of jobs where experience matters. Older equipment doesn’t always fail cleanly—you have to understand how it was built, how it’s been operated, and where it’s most likely to give you problems.

We’ll get it sorted.

At Ranch Cryogenics, we’ve been busy.

Our team is currently in the field relocating three oxygen plants and one CO₂ plant across the West Coast, Midwest, and East Coast, while continuing to execute on a full de-rime turnaround roughly every month. We’ve also been supporting customers with emergency coldbox and vessel repair work when it matters most.

When we’re not in the field, our team is back at our shop in Illinois refurbishing equipment and preparing it for redeployment.

This type of work takes planning, coordination, and a team that knows how to execute safely and efficiently — especially when working with critical process equipment under tight timelines.

Proud of the crew for the consistency and professionalism they bring to these projects day in and day out.

We appreciate the trust our customers place in us and look forward to continuing to support their operations.

Behind the headlines of this historic mission is an incredible amount of engineering — over 700,000 gallons of liquid hydrogen and oxygen, stored at temperatures as low as -253°C, powering NASA’s Space Launch System.

At RCI, we’ve had the privilege of working with multiple space exploration companies, supporting the kind of cryogenic infrastructure that makes missions like this possible.

Congratulations to NASA and the entire Artemis II team on a job well done. Exciting times ahead, and we’re proud to play even a small part in advancing the future of space exploration.

NASA’s Artemis II mission launched yesterday (1 April) without incident, marking a return to crewed lunar flight for the first time in more than half a century.
