We are very pleased to announce that Sunny IKE Centurion has been purchased in co-ownership by Arapaho Rose Alpacas and Lassen View Alpacas.

A special thank you to Karen Kelly, Lin & Steve Murray for believing in Centurion and our breeding program.

Centurion is a very promising and beautiful tuxedo grey male with tremendous potential as a future stud. He is truly an exciting result of our grey breeding program, combining beautiful color, strong genetics, excellent conformation, and quality fleece.

Today was a very tough afternoon for all of us.

Our female had been groaning and looking uncomfortable for the past few days, so this afternoon I finally decided to do a birthing check. I could immediately feel both front legs, but I couldn’t find the head anywhere. I gently brought the front legs out a little, but still couldn’t locate the head. I pushed the legs back in and tried several more times to reposition the cria.

Finally, I found the head—and it was huge! That may explain why she had been so uncomfortable for the past few days.

After nearly an hour of struggling and carefully working to get him into the right position, we finally managed to deliver this big-headed boy safely.

Whew! A 20.4 lb healthy baby boy!

It was an exhausting afternoon, but now Mom looks comfortable, the baby is doing well, and all of us can finally relax and get some rest.

**Another Big Shout-Out! 🎉**

A huge thank you to our wonderful alpaca friends, **Brandi Burns Mello & Russ Mello**, owners of **Picotoot’s Pack of Paca Farm in California**, for purchasing two of our beautiful young brown foundation females, **Sunny Yosemite Baram** and **Sunny Holy Jaya**!

Brandi and Russ specialize in breeding high-quality dark-colored alpacas, and we are excited to see these two fantastic girls become part of their dark-color breeding program.

Both females are bred to **KVR’s Peruvian True Eye Candy**, affectionately known as **“IKE,”** an outstanding silver grey herdsire, **Judge’s Choice winner and 9-time Champion!**

A heartfelt thank you to **Karen Kelly of Arapaho Rose Alpacas in California** for selecting two of our elite foundation white females.

Karen has **26 years of experience as an alpaca breeder** and is also a highly knowledgeable fiber expert with an outstanding breeding program. Over the years, she has generously shared advice with me, and I have always appreciated the insight that comes from her many years of experience.
