Ground beef has hit the news in a big way with the announcement of the US importing cheaper ground beef in an attempt to lower the price.
I don't see this helping customers. I doubt it really moves the price, I suspect the huge packing companies pocket most of the savings and the price stays high.
Just say no to cheap beef from huge multi-national companies.
Shop at your small local shops. Not just us, there are others around. Support the community based shops, the ones your neighbors own and run. When you spend money at a small shop, you are supporting your community. The money you spend stays local, it isn't sent off to a huge multi national company. It stays in your community, and spent at other small businesses who employ your neighbors.
When you shop with us, you can know with certainty you are buying from a shop who sources their meat through small local farms.
Shopping local and small strengthens our local communities and our local food systems. Trust me Wal-Mart and JBS will be just fine. But you know who won't be fine getting undercut on price? Small shops and small farms.
Find your local butcher or meat shop. Ask them where they source from. Just say no to cheap imported beef. Support local, support small. Together we can rebuild a food system that is good for everyone, not just the huge corporations.
