We were so excited to see these little chickadees after letting our hens lay on eggs to try and hatch some chicks and we actually got some chicks!!!! This year has not been our year on the farm .... We lost our only male Rex Rabbit who was our head male for breeding Rex Rabbits, a fox continued to find a way into our coop run after repeatedly fox proofing the area which resulted in a lot of lost laying hens, and then we had a bear hit our bee hives after a branch took out the fence with the electric around it so more than likely no honey this year......
Farming is never easy but when these small wins happen it's a big deal! We are now up to 9 chicks and they all started to hatch right around Aurora's First Birthday! So it's the farms gift to her!
