Joshua’s Story:
Joshua’s life was filled with love for children and animals. He always wanted to help those in need and was never afraid to love unconditionally! With Joshua’s passion for the farm life, spending time with animals was a pastime. At 15 years of age, Joshua passed from this life due to a brain stem glioma after a long battle. Joshua’s dream lives on at the JD Ranch, giving the spirit
of life, joy and hope to others through therapeutic involvement with animals. The Dream:
At the JD Ranch, our dream is to provide an atmosphere where any person can experience the feeling of becoming a Champion through therapeutic interaction with our animals, which include horses, a donkey, cows, dogs and soon rabbits and goats. We harness the spirit of hope and life in our animals and share it with those who are in need in such a way that it allows them to safely step outside of their comfort zones and enable them to build courage, pride, and ultimately receive spiritual healing. There are so many people who can benefit from the therapeutic value that our animals have to offer. The dream of building champions will assist people with disabilities by allowing them to experience agility, mobility, and to gain strength vicariously through these animals. It will enable
those individuals disconnected from society, who have a need to gradually reconnect with the world around them, a safe haven and interactions with these wonderful animals in a peaceful place. The dream is that this will help to feel safe and secure, which in turn may trigger an environment where personal change and healing is possible. Veterans of war, for example often times find it beneficial to spend time on the ranch before jumping back into society. The Ranch will also benefit anyone who is looking for a therapeutic way to de-stress, relax, heal or find inspiration. Building Champions is our goal... Joshua is our inspiration! The Ranch:
Our goal is to provide a variety of activities, amenities and resources for all who come to the ranch. We have a Licensed and Certified Animal Therapist, horses to ride, and a petting farm that includes Mr and Mrs Piggie, Jack the Donkey, Rosco the Gentle Cow, goats, and ranch dogs. Future goals include donkey and pony cart rides, a 50 pound bunny, climbing tunnels, hay jumps, and other activities as contributions come in. We are currently doing Scheduled Events only, so please contact us to plan your individual, family or group visit to JD Ranch. Join the Dream! You can become a life-changing partner in several ways.
