Even with the chaos this year has brought in Western PA, we’re pleased to have a fall lamb crop out of ‘Icemann’ and ‘Sly Abe’. A bit smaller than normal but we’re happy with what we’ve gotten.

As always farm visits are welcome and we look forward to the spring sale season. We are only a short drive from the Pennsylvania Turnpike and I-70 in New Stanton and a little further of a drive from I-80 in Brookeville/DuBois.

Roy Stephen Campbell
September 29, 1966 - June 2nd 2024

Words cannot even begin to describe the pain that we feel right now. My dad went to join the lord Sunday. While not only a great husband of 31 years to my mom Lisa Campbell, but the best dad that my brother and I could ask for. He was our rock, someone you could always go to that would always have an answer no matter what, and my business partner with our flock of Polled Dorset Sheep for Penn View Farms. While I may have been the face of the operation, dad was always the brains.

Dad also was an enthusiastic and passionate agricultural educator for 36 years with Derry Area School District and Penns Manor Area School District. He would have been retiring with my mom effective this summer. We will love him and miss him so much.

A prayer embodies what my dad taught me and my brother:

The Legacy Prayer

There's a code among men that I'm lucky to know.
A wise man taught me, while he watched me grow.
Shake firm, lock eyes, no hat at the table.
Be reluctant to fight, but ready and able.
Treat our women like queens, they're the light of our lives.
Make a dollar when you can, but keep your eyes on the prize.
Family is everything, love and protect them to no end.
And make few men proud, to call you a friend.
I'll miss you everyday, and visit when I can.
But I'll never forget you.

👀 Genetic Success Shoutout 👀

Hilltop Dorsets Lot 15 in the Illinois Dorset Sale with a Campbell Bros 398 daughter.

398 is a “Sloe Gin” son and 398’s mom dates back to some of our oldest genetics on the farm with Campbell 0250. She lived to be one of the oldest and most dependable ewes that we’ve ever raised.

Colby and the crew have put out a few sheep with our genetics in the last couple years and this might be the best one yet!

If you have success stories at shows or sales with our sheep or genetics, we’d love to hear and see them. Send us a message and we’d be happy to do a feature.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who bought, bid, or gave compliments on our sheep yesterday. Your support keeps us going.

Pictured is PVF 423R who placed 3rd Friday and has an exciting opportunity ahead of him out in the Pacific Northwest. We can’t wait to see what he does to put his stamp on the industry.

Lastly we’re really excited about bringing a piece of our genetics back home with the addition of lot 126 from the Hilltop Dorsets crew.

Be on the lookout for what we think is another good set of late fall lambs at the May sale.
