My Story
As a child, I loved baking with my mamaw. Christmas and Thanksgiving were extra special—she always let my sister and me help make the pecan pies and pound cake. Besides helping her, I never baked much on my own. My twin sister was the one with the natural baking talent; she loved creating dishes for everyone, while I never really thought I could do the same.
After I got married and my mamaw passed away, baking became less frequent. I would make the occasional cobbler, but that was about the extent of it.
In 2023, at the age of 38, I became pregnant with my second child. At 10 weeks gestation, our precious baby girl gained her angel wings. Baby Emerson was deeply loved and is so incredibly missed. My heart was shattered, and I found myself in a very dark place. As a stay-at-home mom, I needed something meaningful—something to pour my love and energy into beyond day-to-day responsibilities.
That is when Petite Sweets was born.
I chose the name in honor of our petite, teeny baby who went to Heaven far too soon. Every treat I make carries a piece of her memory and a whole lot of love. I use the cleanest ingredients I can find, because the only thing I ever want to be “bad” in my sweets is the sugar. Baking has become my passion, and I pour creativity, care, and heart into every confection I create.
Thank you for supporting my small business and for allowing Emerson’s memory to shine through my work.
In loving memory of our sweet girl,
Emerson James McClure
