A nice rainy Sunday. Rejoicing in each heavenly drop that is quenching my gardens thirst.

Rainy days are good for collecting roots. While the best tine to collect herbal roots is fall or early spring when the plant doesen't have to concentrate energy on what's growing above ground and all the energy is in the roots, sometimes you just need to collect a few roots to get you through. Collected Dandelion (Taraxacum Officinale) and Wild Yellowroot (Xanthorhiza Simplicissma) to add to my Posy Potions Digesting Better Bitters Tincture. Great for aiding digestion before/after meals. Also harvested some Heal All or Self Heal (Prunella Vulgaris) to add to my Posy Potions Anti-Wrinkle Salve as well as some Passion Flower (Passiflora incamata) and Mugwort (Artemisa vulgaris) for my Posy Postions Sleepy Me Tea. Every day is harvest day this time of year. There are always some herbals that need harvesting.

Congratulations to Lauren Purdy Thomas for getting 23 of 25 correct, You won the alpaca socks! Please PM me and I will get them to you.

WIN A PAIR OF ALPACA SOCKS! What's blooming now? The first response we receive that correctly identifies these flowering plants (common name) will win a pair of our wonderfully soft alpaca socks. (Hint: some plants are cottage garden flowers and herbs, some are flowering vegetables, and some are native woodland plants.) Good Luck! If no one gets them all correct, we will give the socks to the person that has the most correct answers. We will pick a winner and post the answers on Tuesday, May 12th.

Did you know… even in their final moments, bees choose peace over struggle—resting softly on a flower beneath the quiet sky 🐝🌙
Not every bee returns home, but their last act is still one of purpose and grace.
Bees give their entire lives to the colony, working tirelessly until their very last breath.
Even at the end, they may gather one final bit of pollen—a silent goodbye, a final gift.
So when you see a tiny bee resting on a flower at dusk, remember… she’s not just resting—she’s completing her journey.

A single bee can spend nearly 12 hours producing just 8 tiny wax flakes… 🐝
It takes roughly 500,000 of those delicate flakes to build only 1 pound of honeycomb.

Behind every drop of honey is an incredible story of patience, teamwork, and relentless effort.
What looks small to us is a lifetime of dedication for them.
Next time you see honey, remember — it’s not just food, it’s the result of thousands of hours of hard work by nature’s smallest engineers. 🍯✨
