Year seven of pumpkins, and we are sold out for the season! 🎃

As with each new pumpkin season, we are so thankful for our community's support and love. We treasure getting to see each of you. Through the years, we have had the opportunity to watch families grow, meet new friends, and share our harvests. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for not only allowing us to be a tradition for you, but for also being the same for us.

We always try to get our timing right, and this year, they worked with us. Three long rows of bright yellow blooms!

The weigh-in results determined that while Loretta may be our largest pumpkin, she's not the heaviest...Opal's reign continues! 🎃

With a waist measurement over 10 feet, Loretta's predicted weight should have been over 650 pounds, but instead, she came in five pounds shy of our record, Opal.

Loretta's official weight is 554 pounds, which we are very proud to reach with our no fertilizer or irrigation practices.

She's a beauty and will be ready at the barn this weekend. Who's coming to see Loretta!? 🤩

Thank you for everyone who helped us in guessing her weight. We appreciate everyone's support and enjoyed pouring over the large number of responses. The winner of the t-shirt, Emily Biagianti, has been contacted and guessed Loretta's exact weight! 👕

We've said it before, but we'll say it again...if you haven't had a Candy Roaster cured in a 120+ year old North Georgia barn- you're missing out! 😋

With their heirloom roots dating back to the Cherokee in the 1800's, they are not only a fall harvest delight but also a piece of our local history. They are our go-to when it comes to sweet or savory dishes and treats. Pies, breads, soups, and stews - a candy roaster is one to try!

We'll have them ready for this weekend! See you then! 🎃

Loretta is still making gains as we get closer to opening pumpkin weekend. With a measured weight estimating over 600 pounds, she could be the new record for Choestoe Farms.

Opal's reign at 559 pounds may be coming to an end this fall...if Loretta can make it to weigh-in! 🤞

🎃 Did you say 500 pounds!? Loretta is showing off this week.🎃 👀

If we had gone by the book, Loretta would have been culled earlier in the season; however, given the opportunity to grow, she's reached the 500-pound mark and continuing to grow.

As with all of our pumpkins, our giant pumpkins, like Loretta, do not receive any irrigation or synthetic fertilizers, and we only use naturally occurring fungicides and bacteria. Because of this, reaching the 500-pound mark is quite a challenge for us.

Will she beat Opal's weight of 559 pounds? Only time will tell. 🎃

Introducing- Loretta 😍

Entering the charts at a current estimate of 400 pounds, we've got big hopes for this h***y tonk girl. 🎃 Loretta has been averaging 25 pounds of growth a day this past week. She's Oscar's daughter, as well as, the granddaughter and great-granddaughter to Chuck. (Growing on a plant from an Oscar seed, Oscar 2023- 359lbs).

2025 Giant Pumpkin Watch! 👀 🎃

Meet Ophelia, a sister to Opal, and a daughter to Chuck. She may be one of the last direct descendants from Chuck (2019), and we are excited to see how big she gets this season. 🤩

Chuck was 390 pounds, and Opal was our record weighing 559 pounds. Ophelia is experimental for us this year being planted in a "no-till" fashion. She also has the ability to grow over the cover crops with no space constraints.
