Every time I try to photograph Roosevelt, he looks like a derpy goat! Does he not understand that I want to show everyone on the internet how handsome he is?

Ok lets be honest, he's a derp. This ram thinks he's my dog. He comes running when I call his name. He follows me at a better heel than Buddy does. Now he still loves a bucket more than life and will get pushy, even around an empty bucket. You never know, it could magically spawn grain!

The saying "Never trust a ram" has validity, even with Rosey boy. I know he's running up for scritches and pets when he gallops up behind me, but I still turn and watch him. He is at least 140 pounds of muscle and if he ever decided to ram me, I would be hurting pretty bad. I have personal thresholds for what is considered aggressive behavior for all the species we keep on the farm, any animal that crosses their threshold goes to freezer camp. Roosevelt has been a pretty well behaved ram in my opinion. As long as he stays that way, he gets to stay.

It's lice and mite season and Elector PSP is my favorite, single treatment solution for lice. You mix up the solution in a gallon of water which you can use as a dip or put in a pump sprayer to treat your flock.

The biggest setback on Elector PSP is the sticker shock. For many keepers, a whole jug isnt worth it. Which is why we are offering single gallon doses for a much more affordable price.

Message us to buy some Elector PSP today!

Let's chat about the Llama in the poultry community.

There are two sides in the poultry world, the genuinely passionate breeders that care about the birds and then there's the people that are passionate about other things. The hateful people, the flippers, the "in it for the money" people.

The poultry world will always have both that's just how it is, but the passionate people tend to still be around after 10 years. They're still breeding, working on their lines, learning more, and educating and sharing what they know.

If you're new, please don't be intimidated or think we are all like the hateful/flipper/money hungry group. Most of us arent, they're just loud because they crave attention.

Backyard Butchery just left the farm. I have nothing but good things to say about my first experience with them. This was my first time having sheep processed, and my experience with Tiffany and her husband (who's name is escaping my brain sadly) has cemented me as a returning customer.

I'll do a longer post later about the full experience. Again thank you both for coming out and giving Teddy and the dinner boys a dignified last day.

BBS Ameraucana flock - 1 rooster (1.5 yrs old) 4 hens (2 yrs old)
Black roo with 1 black, 1 blue, 2 splash hens. The rooster is bearded with muffs but it's been plucked out.

Pictured at end is one of their offspring that is not available.

One more day before the dinner boys and Teddy go to freezer camp. All they know is that they are getting the good food.

Along with the silver ameraucana that hatched, I had eight light barnyard mixes hatch from my egg flock. These eggs were filler eggs to ensure if only one silver hatched out that it would have friends.

But look at all those naked necks! I am ecstatic about those cuties ๐Ÿ˜
