I hope this message is received in the spirit itās intended. None of these ladies know Iām sharing this, and they certainly never asked me to.
When I lost my little brother suddenly and tragically in September, our family was overwhelmed with grief. During that time, several small business owners from Blanchard showed up at my doorstep with meals and help for my family. There were days when those acts of kindness were the reason we were eating at all. Especially the two year old with an oblivious appetite, lol.
The impact of their generosity was far greater than they probably realized. And it didnāt stop at my doorstep, they continued to check on me weeks later.
Iām sharing this not to give them a public pat on the back, but to encourage you to support the real people behind our local small businesses. Behind every farmers market booth, storefront, and social media post is a person with a heart. PS Heather makes the absolute best fried rice š

If youāve made it this far, I can use this platform for awareness or silenceā¦. Soā¦please never underestimate the hole your absence would leave. June is Menās Mental Health Awareness Month, and itās an important reminder to check in on the people around you, and on yourself. If youāre struggling, reach out. If someone comes to mind, send the text, make the call, have the conversation. Small acts of care can have a lasting impact, and sometimes they can change or even save a life.
