Good morning, friends and neighbors and happy Wednesday/hump day!
Well, it must be spring because we’ve got all kinds of girls sitting on eggs that are going to hatch so we’ll have chicks and ducklings (the majority are Muscovy’s) available soon. In addition, we have our two baby goats that are currently available for cuddles and in a month will be ready to find their new homes, one buckling and one doeling. And meat (or pet) rabbits and baby bunnies too! There are even adult female goats (some “in milk”) who are looking for new homes. Give us a shout!
It’s been a short four years since I took a leap of faith and moved to Blissfield, got a couple of goats for milk and cheese and a “few” (🤣🤣🤣) chickens and ducks so I could provide myself fresh and wholesome products - and then quickly realized I had an abundance and my neighbors could also benefit from that abundance. And in that time, many of my friends and neighbors and this wonderful community have made me feel so welcome here! I wasn’t born and raised in Blissfield but y’all have certainly made me feel like I was!
This farm is a place for not only creating all of our products and animals but we’re also a place to come, feel welcome and visit the animals! And We offer learning opportunities like farm tours, baby animal cuddles, workshops and all kinds of other fun! AND, we offer the KNOWLEDGE to create your own yummy goodies at home! Our animals are free to live their best lives while here; happy, healthy, and well treated animals that live their best life while they’re on the farm create a fun, happy and safe environment for everyone who visit and the happiness shows; when you come to pick up products or visit, the animals will welcome you. They want to meet you and get to know you. They all have names and are treated with respect and so are you. We don’t have mean animals here.
Some of our other products that provide: elderberry syrup, goat meat, chicken, duck meat; duck, chicken, goose eggs; goat, milk, soaps, and lotions, made from our own animals, milk; jams and jelly is made from fruit that’s grown on our farm or entirely organic from other local farms; fresh raw milk/herdshares – both cow and goat milk; much much more!
Don’t forget, we have two beginner cheese and dairy workshops on the books: April 25 and May 17 with future dates coming all summer: we will be holding beginner cheese and dairy workshop part two starting in June; also starting in June, we’ll have a pop-up ice cream social/frozen dairy treats to include ice cream, gelato, frozen yogurt, and other fun delicious frozen goodies; we’ll also be offering homesteading/micro farm mentorship/workshops in June in July; along with other classes and workshops that people are interested in just send us ideas! For all workshops, we offer private group parties. Just contact us for availability.
Another thing I love about this town is partnering with other local farmers, businesses, and with individuals and groups that share our dream of being sustainable, chemical and pesticide-free, and just great products that help along our journey to living our best life.
Did you know we also offer opportunities for people to gain experience working on a farm? If you’re a kiddo, who’s 16 or older, he is a hard worker and loves animals, you are welcome to come volunteer for however much time you have available in exchange for a great reference and a spot on your résumé that shows that you’re committed to hard work and your community.
We are a no judgment, everyone’s welcome and safe place to be; one of the great things about being around animals is that they provide lots of smiles and heartwarming, hug and kisses and we like to share that with people who visit the farm.
If you’re interested in hearing more and or setting up an appointment to come either pick up products, join our Herdshare program, or to visit the animals, give us a shout, we’re happy to have you!
Have a terrific day everyone, stay dry, and hope to see you soon.🌻🌻🌻
