A lot of animals run when they’re faced with being sprayed with water… Not this duck, she says “hold my beer!“ 🤣🤣🤣

Incidentally, this is also the duck whose husband got killed so maybe she’s just less fearful of me. She still follows me around every day, she won’t let me touch her, but she and I hang out a lot.

To the person who blew through the corner of Crockett and Fike and hit one of my ducks yesterday, you could’ve at least stopped to see if he was ok (he was not) and put him down yourself or just say sorry.

No, ducks don’t belong in the road, yes, you had plenty of time to slow down - he was HUGE so it’s not like you didn’t see him. How about you slow down and try not to kill creatures even if they don’t belong in front of you. It took me 45 minutes to finally put him to rest, the most horrific death I’ve had to experience so far.

His girlfriend unfortunately was also there to bear witness (the main pic is her after I took him away, waiting for him), standing just a little closer to the ditch. She sat with me for 2 hours afterwards, trying to get me to tell her where he went after I spent some time holding him while I was assessing his wounds; his entire right side was broken and he was still desperately trying to say he was ok. He so wasn’t. She kept talking to me, which is very unusual for a Muscovy. Poor girl…she’s been walking around all day today near me still waiting for me to magically get him to appear. 😢😭

Happy FriYAY! We still have a few spots left for our upcoming Beginner Cheese Workshop on Sunday, May 17 at 3pm…a super fun activity with friends or to make new friends and come alone! Learn how to make your own dairy products using fresh milk from our own cow. And, meet the animals…not only Marabelle, but Pippin (her best buddy and our very first cow), and all the goats - we have 2 babies now and were expecting babies this Monday so there’ll be even more cuteness when you come!

The classes are also a great time to ask any and all your questions about raw milk and herdshares and to taste and purchase homemade products from our farm store - jams, syrup, spices, cheesemaking supplies, goat milk lotions, goat milk soap, and much much more!

Give us a shout or click on the link to sign up! If you can’t make it, we’re scheduling additional workshops before the end of May so keep your eyes open for details. 🥛🧀

(We also offer special small group classes for people who want to learn with their friends on a scheduled date of their choice - give us a shout for details, scheduling, and pricing!)

Good morning, friends and neighbors and happy Wednesday/hump day!

Well, it must be spring because we’ve got all kinds of girls sitting on eggs that are going to hatch so we’ll have chicks and ducklings (the majority are Muscovy’s) available soon. In addition, we have our two baby goats that are currently available for cuddles and in a month will be ready to find their new homes, one buckling and one doeling. And meat (or pet) rabbits and baby bunnies too! There are even adult female goats (some “in milk”) who are looking for new homes. Give us a shout!

It’s been a short four years since I took a leap of faith and moved to Blissfield, got a couple of goats for milk and cheese and a “few” (🤣🤣🤣) chickens and ducks so I could provide myself fresh and wholesome products - and then quickly realized I had an abundance and my neighbors could also benefit from that abundance. And in that time, many of my friends and neighbors and this wonderful community have made me feel so welcome here! I wasn’t born and raised in Blissfield but y’all have certainly made me feel like I was!

This farm is a place for not only creating all of our products and animals but we’re also a place to come, feel welcome and visit the animals! And We offer learning opportunities like farm tours, baby animal cuddles, workshops and all kinds of other fun! AND, we offer the KNOWLEDGE to create your own yummy goodies at home! Our animals are free to live their best lives while here; happy, healthy, and well treated animals that live their best life while they’re on the farm create a fun, happy and safe environment for everyone who visit and the happiness shows; when you come to pick up products or visit, the animals will welcome you. They want to meet you and get to know you. They all have names and are treated with respect and so are you. We don’t have mean animals here.

Some of our other products that provide: elderberry syrup, goat meat, chicken, duck meat; duck, chicken, goose eggs; goat, milk, soaps, and lotions, made from our own animals, milk; jams and jelly is made from fruit that’s grown on our farm or entirely organic from other local farms; fresh raw milk/herdshares – both cow and goat milk; much much more!

Don’t forget, we have two beginner cheese and dairy workshops on the books: April 25 and May 17 with future dates coming all summer: we will be holding beginner cheese and dairy workshop part two starting in June; also starting in June, we’ll have a pop-up ice cream social/frozen dairy treats to include ice cream, gelato, frozen yogurt, and other fun delicious frozen goodies; we’ll also be offering homesteading/micro farm mentorship/workshops in June in July; along with other classes and workshops that people are interested in just send us ideas! For all workshops, we offer private group parties. Just contact us for availability.

Another thing I love about this town is partnering with other local farmers, businesses, and with individuals and groups that share our dream of being sustainable, chemical and pesticide-free, and just great products that help along our journey to living our best life.

Did you know we also offer opportunities for people to gain experience working on a farm? If you’re a kiddo, who’s 16 or older, he is a hard worker and loves animals, you are welcome to come volunteer for however much time you have available in exchange for a great reference and a spot on your résumé that shows that you’re committed to hard work and your community.

We are a no judgment, everyone’s welcome and safe place to be; one of the great things about being around animals is that they provide lots of smiles and heartwarming, hug and kisses and we like to share that with people who visit the farm.

If you’re interested in hearing more and or setting up an appointment to come either pick up products, join our Herdshare program, or to visit the animals, give us a shout, we’re happy to have you!

Have a terrific day everyone, stay dry, and hope to see you soon.🌻🌻🌻

Are you ready to start your journey making fresh, delicious homemade dairy and cheese products with us? We’ve got terrific step-by-step instructions that we walk through with everyone participating in hands-on “hear”, “see”, “do” method of instruction. Participants love seeing the milk - in cool “experiments” that take us back to high school chemistry class - the dairy change into some really cool and delicious new forms. AND, as if that’s not enough?

We get to taste lots of yummy snacks while we learn and have a blast doing all of this, and if you come a little early, you can visit with the animals on the farm!

We still have spots for both classes and registration is still open, so click on the link for whichever date is best for you:

Saturday, April 25, 3-6:30pm: https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/ev/reg/gcumxas

This is sooooo true! And while it LOOKS safe to do so, DO NOT MOVE YOUR PLANTS OUTSIDE YET! Everyone makes fun of me for planting late, but I’m one of the few who don’t waste all kinds of time planting all their babies in April only to have them all die the last few freezing nights before True Spring finally comes in May.

May the odds ever be in your favor! 🤣🌻😢

In case anyone was wondering... no, you still shouldn't plant your garden yet. Our typical last frost of the year is still a couple weeks away yet. Be patient!

Hi friends, if you’re in our local area, we could use your help: if you have empty egg cartons, could you please share them with us, AND, if you’re a current egg customer of ours, could you please return the cartons you take? If we have to start buying cartons, we’re going to have to raise our egg prices because they’re expensive, and we’re already close to losing on our egg sales with the price of feed; we’ve made the conscious choice of NOT raising egg prices in the 4 years that we’ve been here even though feed, needing, and other supplies challenge the budget even more every year, and we’ve seen just about every other farm raise their prices around us.

Our goal is to provide delicious, farm-raised products at a reasonable price, but the rising costs keep us right at the line where costs outpace what we bring in. These guys are expensive, even when they’re eating grass lol!

If you have cartons and need me to pick them up, let me know where and I’ll be by; if you have the time to drop them off, you can either arrange a time with us OR conveniently drop them off inside the market stand - there are places to leave them on tables or you can shove them under a table or up in the rafters.

Also, WE HAVE EGGS! We always have them, please come on by! $4/dozen. We also have duck eggs, $7/dozen, please contact us for duck eggs because we have them inside the house.

Little Mocha and all the animals say THANK YOU! 🙏 🌻🌻🌻 And enjoy your weekend! 🌻🌻🌻
