We’ve got a new little farm hand around here! 🤍🎀🐮 We welcomed sweet Miss Millie Quinn just over 3 weeks ago. She’s the perfect addition to our crazy herd and her siblings are smitten. I’m sorry we’ve been a little quiet on here, we’ve been soaking in all the snuggles! Happy Spring! 🌸🌼

The ladies hear us call for them and will come running! I love this video of the highland girls all coming down the hill from their pasture when we were needing to get a few up for pregnancy checking.

We teach all our cows to come to a call. We use feed as a reward and it comes in handy when you’re needing to move them for various reasons. We spent last Saturday pregnancy checking our spring calving herd. We ran 91 head through the chute! This was mainly for our Simmental/SimAngus herd, but also included a few highlands.

The 2025 Indiana State Fair was a fun one! Emily “made the dirt” and got to represent the highland breed in the Grand Drive for both the champion and reserve champion! This was the 1st year highlands were allowed to show in the 4-H show (2nd year for the open show) - huge thank you to Grimes Hoosier Highland Farm for working so hard to get this to happen! We had a great time talking with friends and making new ones, too! We are already looking forward to next year!
