It's a bittersweet day for us.
After two fantastic years, we're making a big transition this winter. Plum Run Flowers is leaving the cut flower side of life, and will no longer be a part of our local farmers markets.
Starting Monday, I am stepping back into nonprofit work fulltime. This has been a fantastic adventure, and we're really proud of what we built the business into. But we're in need of more stability for our family, and a wonderful position came open. In just two years, it's gotten a lot harder to sustain a family on a teacher's salary and income from a small business.
Then intention now is to continue with producing native plants at a backyard nursery scale. You probably won't see much from us in public for awhile, but we'll explore special events and festivals once things are more settled.
We're so grateful for the friends we've made, the loyal customers we've gotten to know, and the ways we got to build community and a small business. I can't express enough gratitude to the family that cheered us on while we worked to build all of this.
We'll be seeing you,
Jeremiah
